Essential Duties:

Operates and maintains the Central Utilities Plant and distribution systems for HTHW and chilled water.

Provides on-the-job training for new Central Utility Plant staff.

Establishes work schedules to ensure adequate coverage of Central Plant operations.

Fills in for Central Utilities Operators as required.

Responsible for the operation and maintenance of the boilers, heat exchangers, pumps, ammonia, and refrigerant

compressors. Also responsible for condensers, brine systems, associated piping and valves, and controls.

Assigns work orders to individual operators and assures effective completion of work.

Assists in oversight and supervision of contractors for major maintenance on boilers distribution systems and

associated equipment.

Utilizes the energy management system to evaluate operating conditions and monitor equipment.

Previous Duties:

At the Pueblo Depot Activity, I worked as a boiler operator and checked the smaller route boilers. This included visual inspections of all pumps, compressors, piping, and appertances. The boiler types were Rotary Stoker Coal

Water Tube and Fuel Oil Fired Fire Tube. During maintenance season, I worked on piping HP Steam, welding, and cutting. I have worked boilers extensively.

Previous Title Duties:

At the City of Colorado Springs, my job description consistently increased responsibility, from auxiliary helper to auxiliary tender, up to boiler turbine operator.

Involvement with the operation and responsibility for a variety of power plant equipment including the following:

General Electric and Westinghouse turbines with a total rated output of 237 megawatts.

Babcock / Wilcox and Riley Stoker boilers of both gas and pulverized coal fired types for the above units.

Assisting control room operator in the operation of these units, loading and unloading of three units and their related auxiliaries. I have participated in the startup and shutdown of three units, a 45 MW, 66 MW, and 126 MW as boiler turbine operator. Upon being promoted into the boiler turbine operator position in 1985, my talents were

directed into a new area of operation. I feel totally comfortable and have fulfilled the entire obligation expected of this position, from both my co-workers and superiors.

Other Boiler Experience:

The San Juan Lumber Company was a sawdust fired stoker type boiler 400 PSI.
