Description :

Global Foundries is world’s third largest semiconductor foundry catering to global customers. The company is undergoing business integration between the different fabrication units & global business. GF entities prior to acquisition and Singapore GF have different set of IT Reporting systems to support the enterprise wide reporting (operational and strategic). GF other locations uses SAP / SAP BI as its Reporting tool system while Singapore uses Data warehouse solution using tools like Data Stage, Business Objects ( Adhoc /Published reports) and Qlick view (Dashboard/KPI reporting). In addition Singapore GF has implemented Customer/Supplier facing Portal reports that are either self-service or published thru Foundry View. There are other Fabs/User specific reporting used within GF other locations and GF Singapore to address different reporting requirements.

GF has now embarked on a strategic initiative to move to a single unified ERP system - a unified platform (for Finance, Order to Cash, Procure to Pay, Supply Chain Management, Human Resource System and Customer Relationship Management) across all their business operations around the world, implementing leading business practices.

The client needed a tool set that allowed the knowledge workers to build the processes using a graphical user interface to create the elements of the data warehouse to meet the needs for executive business information. The core business of the client is the refining of crude oil, the marketing of their primary refined petroleum products, and the provision of convenience services through a retail network. The client wants the data warehouse to entail the process of picking up data from source, massaging that information, placing this information into a store, creating the data marts which are delivered to the users, all of which is held together by the metadata. The client wanted the metadata to be available to business analysts in the business and acquired software that not only delivered the information, but also showed the processes. All the measures are delivered across the Internet, and all enable users to drill down from measures into tables, print outs or reports, with the ability to go into multidimensional cubes all using the Web
