SUMMARY

I graduated cum laude from Alvin Community College with an Associates Degree in Process Technology. My work experience includes serving 4 years in the United States Army. During that time I was in charge of maintaining/troubleshooting all communication systems within my unit. After the Army, I joined Pier 1 Imports and became an assistant manager after only 6 months. Then I worked for 5 years as a correctional officer at the Ramsey I Unit in Rosharon, Texas. After receiving my associates degree, I was hired on at Dixie Chemical Company in La Porte, Texas. I worked with over 10 specialty chemicals and also some pharmaceutical. On a daily basis I handled both solid and liquids in batch processing. I worked for LyondellBasell in an olefins unit, where I gained experience with many pieces of equipment such as dryers, reactors and compressors. I also maintain a public water plant in Pearland, Texas owned by Manvel Terrace Utilities. My job experience there specializes in plant operations and includes but is not limited to boilers, pumps and overall plant safety. I am currently employed with Pasadena Refinery Systems, Incorporated. I work within the alkylation unit along with maintaining/operating the boilers that produce steam for the entire refinery.

WORK HISTORY

2009 - Currently Employed Pasadena Refinery Systems, Inc.

I work in an alkylation unit where we react propane and butane in the presence of HF acid to produce octane.

- Constantly reviewing the operation of the plant to monitor production and quality, anticipating and solving problems in a timely manner, and identifying opportunities for improvement.

- Participates in projects that improve efficiency and/or reduce operating costs.

- Samples and tests process streams as required by the QA program and procedures.

- Understands and interprets QA results and took appropriate action when required.

- Communicates directly with the maintenance department to coordinate maintenance and repair work in process areas by using the permit policy required by PRSI.

- Performs preventive maintenance activities as required.

- Assists maintenance technicians in performing maintenance and repairs.

- Assists with diagnosing and trouble-shooting maintenance related issues.

- Participates in safety, health and environmental programs.

In my unit I work with over 10 specialty chemicals and also some pharmaceutical. On a daily basis I handle both solids and liquids in batch processing. My unit operations include, but are not limited to:

It is my responsibility to oversee all maintenance, construction and plumbing tasks including preventative, corrective and emergency situations. I monitor all chemicals in the plant mostly comprised of phosphate and chlorine. I conduct monthly water sampling and submit them to the lab to ensure water quality.

Responsible for maintaining and controlling the inmate population at a medium security facility, including cell searches and perimeter security. Perform routine counts of inmates to insure security.
