Development of L-Band Analog Down-Convertors and Real-time Digital Backend for Phased Array Feeds

• Development, design and testing of L-Band Analog Down-Convertor Receiver Boards for Phased Array Feeds for Radio Astronomy.

• Implementation and analyzing the performance of the down-convertor boards for the experiments at Arecibo Observatory, Puerto Rico and Green Bank, WV.

• Development of Real-time Digital Backend for the Phased Array Feeds using FPGA-based ROACH boards and CASPER libraries. This includes developing of real-time 64-channel spectrometer, beam former and correlator & streaming the processed data over 10 GbE interface and storing data on the computer.

• Developing an algorithm for imaging weak sources with Phased Array Feeds, using signal processing and hybrid beam forming codes.
