1From April 2008 to till date working as a welding QC assistant & NDT

supervisor with Pothiraj Engineering Private Limited Coimbatore

TOTAL EXPERIENCE:

Four (4) years of experience

JOB DESCRIPTION:

Conducting QA/QC audits includes NDE audits, Welding consumables, spool

management etc….

Reinstatement of piping and witnessing of bolt torturing, review and compilation of

test packs as per project requirements.

Estimation of welding consumables and monitoring their storage.

Submitting WPS/PQR for the clients approval.

Monitor the fabrication of structural items. Ducting welded Beams, Column, and

Welded Boxes. Etc…

Monitoring the weld fit ups, Joint alignment, weld consumables and welding

activities.

To check the dimension as per drawing and preparing the dimension report.

Witnessed all NDT inspections, Reviewed RT films and maintained QC records

including welder performance status, daily welding reports, consumables control

records and NDT status.

Inspection of tubes for bowing and bulging, corrosion, deposits and hardness of the

tubes.

Inspection of tube guides for guide roe bend, cracks between the guide rod and

heater tube weld and bulging of guide rod, indicating overheating.

Inspection of tube supports for corrosion.

Checking of shell for any bulges and visual abnormality.

Checking the burner tip for erosion, enlargement of holes and cracking at holes,

identifying tips damaged burner number wise.

Checking diffuser vane and pilot tip for erosion and deposits.

Checking the condition of platform, structure, ladder, hand rail for painting, corrosion

and mechanical damage.

Surveillance that welding parameters such as amperage, voltage, polarity, welding

techniques are in compliance with approved procedures.

Verifying records of calibration certificates of equipments, consumable test

certificates and holding oven records.

Verification that pre heats and inter pass temperature is done in accordance to the

requirements of approved procedures.

Resolving customer complaints and non conformity (NCR) etc…

Implement and maintain a QA/QC system in compliance with project specification

and project quality policy.

COMPUTER KNOWLEDGE:

Windows 98/2000/ XP, Ms, Excel.

EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATIONS:

2Diploma in Mechanical Engineering from department of technical education

Kerala.

3ASNT Level II (MT, PT, UT, RT & RTFI) from Welding Quality Concepts, Trichy

– Tamil Nadu.
