Owner/Manager of an Electronic Manufacturing technical consulting business specializing in New Electronic Consumer and Defense product Introduction and Commercialization.

- Developed cost reduction strategies for new product commercialization in the electronic product manufacturing business sectors. Initiatives included product re-design recommendations for Cost of Goods Sold pricing reductions and target pricing achievement, ease of manufacturing and field support, design for manufacturability and testability, and on-time delivery planning. VICE PRESIDENT OF OPERATIONS – Electro-Optical Security Screening Device Company

Consulting initiative responsible for all operational aspects of new product commercialization including cost of goods sold, time to market, manufacturing engineering and test, procurement, quality systems, supplier selection, multi-facility production and bottom line profitability. Products manufactured and procured include highly technical electronic products, custom metal and wood enclosures, custom optical lenses, air-cooling and heating systems and motorized assemblies.

Successfully launched a production readiness program which included developing a supplier base capable of providing turn-key highly technical electro-mechanical sub-assemblies. Negotiated pricing and delivery contracts to enable successful attainment of COGS targets and delivery timing. Developed key company infrastructure to insure internal production readiness support while simultaneously selecting and qualifying a contract manufacturing operation to build and functionally test system level deliverable product.

GENERAL MANAGER – EMS Contract Manufacturing Facility

Responsible for plant management of a 75k sq. ft. facility with seventy direct labor personnel and a direct support staff of five. This company was an electronic contract manufacturing facility specializing in printed circuit board assemblies and electromechanical box builds for the LED lighting, Medical and nuclear industries. Included in scope of position were P&L responsibility, EH&S, new business, quality systems development, technology development and facility capitalization.

Performed staff re-structuring efforts to improve operational capabilities. Successfully shipped 7 consecutive months of on-target to goal revenue. Initiated employee motivation plan to improve morale and return company profitability. Prepared and developed a quality system for ISO 9001:2008 and 13485:2003 certification compliance.

INDUSTRY EXPERIENCE

VICE PRESIDENT OF MANUFACTURING OPERATIONS, BRIJOT IMAGING SYSTEMS, ORLANDO, FL, 2004 - 2008

Responsible for all strategic manufacturing and operational initiatives for highly complex millimeter wave weapons detection systems. Brijot Imaging Systems is a start-up initiative launched in May of 2004 consisting of designing and producing a millimeter wave camera capable of concealed weapons detection. The product utilizes highly complex radiometric circuitry, sophisticated dithering scanning systems, optical lenses, on board computers and various electronic modules.

- Successfully executed aggressive simultaneous product launch, engineering release and operational start-up supporting 50 systems per month in a sixteen-month timeframe.

- Developed a Supply Chain Qualification Program and selected key product supply partners.

- Performed extensive make/buy analysis and developed a production strategy to utilize contract manufacturing services in lieu of a production facility start-up.

- Launched production build on time with zero late deliveries and a scrap rate of less than one percent and met full scale production cost targets from first production unit build.

- Developed tooling and build methodologies to insure scalability in processes and enable transition from a Tier 2 supplier to a Tier 1 organization should production volumes dictate.

- Provided real time engineering and developed product changes to improve ease of manufacturing as well as functional performance.
