Duties and Responsibilities:

• Inspection & expedition of the fabrication and assembly activities at the Fabricator’s end.

• Ensure that the fabrication activities are performed as per the Contract documents.

• Weld visual inspection, NDT witness, RT interpretation.

• NDT procedure review & approval.

• Co-ordination with Contractor’s Engineering / design about any fabrication issues or for any non-conformance.

• Co-ordination with Fabricator’s Planning section & Contractor on about the shipment progress planned v/s actual status.

2) Alta Vista Solutions, China (Dec’ 2009 to Oct’ 2011).

Position : QA Inspector – Welding & NDT.

Client : California Department of Transportation (CALTRANS).

Project : San Francisco – Oakland Bay Bridge (SFOBB).

Contractor : American Bridge / Flour; Joint Venture.

Fabricator : Shanghai Zhenhua Heavy Industries Co. Ltd (ZPMC), Shanghai, China.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Ensure that the Contractor’s activities are carried out as per the Contract document / ITP and the applicable code / standards.

• Visual inspection and NDT [UT & MT] of the welds as per the specification requirements. Evaluate the NDT results as per project applicable codes and specifications. Visual & NDT inspection of repairs of welds.

• Random inspection of the welding parameters to ensure that it complies with WPS. Random monitoring of fit-up.

• Anticipate the fabrication issues and resolving the same after co-ordinating with Engineering / Design section.

• Prepare NDT and Daily Inspection reports for the NDT / activities performed.

• Review of NDT records / Test packs to ensure that all the applicable NDT is performed for the respective welds as per drawing / Contract requirements.

• Report to Lead QA for any Non-conformance to specification / codes or standards, for necessary actions.

3) Velosi LLC, Oman (Jan’ 2009 to Nov’ 2009).

Position : Lead QA – Welding & NDT.

Client : Petroleum Development of Oman (PDO).

Project : Qarn Alam Steam Project.

Fabricator : Dodsal.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Review of MTC’s of raw materials and welding consumables.

• Witness welding procedure qualification & testing and recording of parameters. Witness welder performance qualification. Review of proposed WPS and PQR.

• Ensure that the Contractor’s / Vendor’s activities are carried out as per the approved project specifications and the applicable code / standards.

• Carry out regular Reviews and Inspections of field / shop welding operations to ensure WPS parameters are followed.

• Monitor welder performance, repair rate, etc, and ensure their compliance within the acceptable scope of the project specifications.

• Interpretation of RT films. Random witness for MPI, LPT and UT of welds as per project specifications.

• Review the PWHT charts received from Contractor.

• Review, line walk down and approval of Test-Packs (for spools / line) for hydro-test and Site Commissioning.

• Witnessing Hydro Test.

4) Consolidated Contractors International Company (CCIC), UAE (May 2007 to Oct’ 2008).

Position : QA/QC Engineer.

Client : Abu Dhabi Gas Company (GASCO).

Project : Habshan Gas Complex Expansion Project (HGCE).

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Witness WQT & recording of parameters during welding the test coupon.

• Carry out fit-up inspection and weld inspection as per ITP requirement. Carry out regular reviews to ensure WPS parameters are followed.

• Monitor welder performance, repair rate.

• Review of the NDT reports. Interpretation of RT films. Witness for MPI / LPT and UT of welds as per project specifications.

• Ensure maintenance of Traceability of fabricated spools and structures.

• Preparation of Daily Welding Reports, identify the PWHT and NDT requirements for the relevant spools and/or joints. Review the PWHT charts received from sub-contractor.

• Preparation of Test-Packs (for spools / line) and getting it approved from Client for release for hydro and Site Commissioning. Witnessing of Hydro Test.

• Also worked in 3 major shutdowns in various Units of GASCO (Abu Dhabi Gas Company) Plant.

5) Godrej & Boyce Mfg Co Ltd, Mumbai, India (June 2003 to May 2007); (On Contract – Feb 2003 to May 2003).

Position : Deputy Manager – QA (Nuclear Projects).

Client : Nuclear Power Corporation of India Ltd.

Projects : Reactor components for TAPP 3 & 4 and RAPP 3 & 4.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Performing / witnessing UT, LPT. Interpretation of RT films.

• Review of MTC’s, witnessing testing of raw materials at lab.

• Review of WPS & PQR and conducting welder’s qualification tests. Witnessing the mechanical testing of the test coupons. Review of PWHT charts.

• Carrying out the dimensional inspection of heavy structures on Skoda, VTL, etc. Aligning the parts using LASER & Optical instruments for assembly integration.

• Execution of intermediate & final dimensional inspection at Site, relevant Site fabrication, erection of the assemblies, aligning & integrating all the parts and testing.

• Preparation of Assembly integration, alignment & testing procedure.

• Raise NCR’s, where warranted, on process / product non-conformances and liaise with discipline personnel to ensure corrective & preventive actions are taken. Analyze the Corrective & preventive action taken on NCR’s for the final approval of the QA / QC Manager.

• Allocating responsibilities & tasks for inspectors & Team of Engineers. Provide the necessary support to the vendor to get the necessary output; to resolve & minimize any Quality related issues. Monitor sub-contractors performance for compliance with the Quality requirements.

• Co-ordinating with Third Party & the Client for the issue of Final Inspection Reports & Release Note.
