WASTE ENGINEER 2000 - 2005

Directly responsible for managing a range of Low Level Waste shipment and disposal activities. Work in concert with upper management, construction supervisors, technical employees, vendors / subcontractors, inside departments and outside agencies on a daily basis to ensure strict requirements met and exceeded to facilitate on-time progress of both new and ongoing programs.

Waste management duties include the development of shipment documentation from final on-site bulking to disposal. Assign radiological characterization, ensure profile parameters are met, and confirm shipping containers meet Department of Transportation (DOT) requirements.

Develop, implement, and administer waste inventory control systems and procedures managing waste inventories exceeding 50,000 containers, including assisting in streamlining data acquisition system used to characterize and ship high-profile waste projects in a wide variety of environments. Assist in coordinating and managing both routine and special projects. Work in concert with company’s Waste Characterization and Waste Acceptance Organization to identify waste

inventories and initiate the development of Request for Disposal enabling the completion of on-

site bulking and disposal of waste.

Coordinate pre-startup activities for operations, characterization, and shipping teams to ensure smooth transition into production. Carefully review characterization data, and resolve discrepancies with analytical data to ensure determinations meet RCRA regulations.
