Field Tech Supervisor January 2006 11/2010 - Comcast

In my current position as a Field Technician Supervisor, I am responsible for:

Routing technicians in the counties I supervise (Prince Georges/District of Columbia)

Perform full maintenance tech job functions (trouble-shooting, technician ride-outs, running drops, restoring cable, reconnects, telephone installation, wireless internet installation, change of services)

Responsible for interviewing, screening and selecting prospective new hires.

Responsible for training technicians on assessment test preparation for Comcast COM Tech 1-3 standard job functions. A required passing minimum score of 70% based on current standard passing ratios, before technicians can perform installations without supervision.

Review of technicians daily-logs. This required the review of coding, signatures, ensuring checks/money-orders and currency where submitted with the work orders, checking to make sure the techs where on time, and the checking in of remaining equipment (cable boxes/modems) for closing out the day.

Responsible for terminating employees do to non-compliance of company guidelines.

Participated in weekly management meeting on performance levels of technicians, job stats (completion rates, repeat calls percentages).

Rotating shift for closing out ALL technicians, followed by locking and securing of the office.

Working in Head end install satellite dishes and cable racks and fiber optic Cisco routers/switches

Performed routine troubleshooting calls: troubleshoot the plant from the customer’s equipment through the distribution/feeder cable to the first active in order to restore subscriber service. Survey the plant in order to ensure service availability to potential subscribers. Perform underground location of existing plant using system prints and cable locating equipment in order to prevent cable damage and service interruption.

Responded to and repair service interruptions during regular business hours and when on-call as required.

Performed CLI ride-outs and track and repair leakage, as necessary.

Performed construction maintenance duties. Splice aerial/underground coaxial cable and equipment to restore cable plant to system specification. Repair and/or replace damaged aerial/underground plant, Repair and/or replace damaged aerial/underground plant.
