* Computer Programming

Extensive Ability. Programming languages known and used include C/C++, JavaScript, HTML, FORTRAN, Pascal, VHDL, and several forms of pre-Visual BASIC. Has a little bit of experience using RealBASIC, and has studied LabVIEW. Has knowledge and experience in assembly code programming. Experienced in serial port programming.

* Software Packages (excluding those related to computer programming)

Very proficient in Microsoft Word, MS Excel, and MS Paint. Has experience using the MATLAB/Simulink suite of programs. Recently learned how to use Lotus Notes. Can design printed circuit boards using EAGLE. Can draft using AutoCAD. Has experience using the software tools ClearCase and Understand.

* Foreign Languages

Fluent in French. Also knows Latin; this allows for easier ability to learn other Romance Languages. Can speak conversational-level Japanese.

WORK EXPERIENCE

* Caterpillar, Inc., on contract through Ageatia Staffing (2012)

Worked as a C/C++ software developer. Learned how to work with Versioned Object Bases and ClearCase. Also learned how to use Lotus Notes. Position ended prematurely due to the ripple effects of a strike at the company.

* Supreme Hinge (2009-Present)

Employed as a robotic/PLC technician intern. Successfully retrofitted a 50+ year-old punch press with a PLC unit to allow programmable/long-distance operation. Commissioned/retrofitted an Amada PEGA 240 Turret Punch Press for automatic, computer-controlled operation. Performed computer hardware setup and installation tasks as well as system administration tasks on a LINUX platform. Also deduced the correct operation of, commissioned, and programmed code on a KUKA IR 761 six-axis robot using limited documentation.

* Nesch, LLC (2006-2007)

Worked at this start-up company as an engineering intern from Jan. to Oct. 2006. Promoted to position of electrical engineer at the beginning of Nov. 2006. Time spent working for this company has provided much work experience in a short time due to the versatility of the assigned tasks. Worked with and studied devices such as the LabJack, MDrive, and thermocouple meters. Learned how to use EAGLE and how to perform serial communications while employed there, and gained a beginner’s knowledge in the use of REALbasic, LabVIEW, and the LINUX operating system.

* College Senior Design Project (2004)

Worked on building a wireless seizure detection system in a group of four. Specific part in project involved the construction of an alarm/monitoring station and the programming of a microcontroller for controlling the system. Greatly improved electronics assembly and soldering skills during this project.
