INTERNATIONAL CONTROLLER / INTERNATIONAL ACCOUNTING MANAGER

Profile:

Highly motivated, hands on, and results driven professional with broad experience in International finance and accounting with companies in the retail, service and manufacturing industries. Extensive knowledge of controlling international operations, managing accounting staffs and the company’s overall internal reporting process for expanding businesses in Central America & Caribbean, South America, Asia and Europe.

Responsibilities have included: Plan, direct, and coordinate all international accounting functions including month-end close, financial reporting package, analytical review and preparation of financial statements to USGAAP, IFRS and Tax to ensure timely corporate reporting and statutory filings. Monitor and investigate variances in budget vs. actual. Guide financial decisions and protects assets by establishing, documenting, monitoring, and enforcing internal controls, policies and procedures (Sarbanes-Oxley). Provide management with information vital to the decision-making process. Assess current accounting operation, review recommendations for improvement and implement approved processes. Partner with Legal, Treasury, Tax, Logistics and Customs leaders to implement inter-company agreements and transactions. Review contracts to ensure compliance. Liaison between the corporate office and operations management in the International locations. Lead accounting related projects. Work closely with external auditors and tax advisors on various tax and accounting issues. Hire, train, retain and manage competent controllers in several countries. Lead HR & Payroll Benefits Administration. Build effective relationships at all levels of the organization.
