OBJECTIVE

Seeking a full-time position where I could accomplish something novel and valuable using my knowledge and research experience in polymer and materials science and engineering.

WORK AND RESEARCH EXPERIENCE

 Development of tooling and process for nano and micro-scale replication as a POSTDOC research associate

 Process development for microfluidic device

 Invention of metal-polymer hybrid tooling for micro injection molding and heat transfer analysis

 Development of gas-assist micro injection molding

 Investigation of tooling surface effect on nano-scale replication (silicon, anti-stiction coating on silicon, and metal-polymer hybrid)

 Investigation of polymer materials (PC, TPU, TPE, PS, PMMA, Nylon, COP, PP) on nano and micro-scale replication

 Design mold for insert molding

 Characterization with AFM, FMM, SEM, and confocal optical microscopy

 Biomimetic approach to modify crystal growth via polymer induced liquid precursor(PILP)

 Calcium carbonate crystallization by using polyaspartic acid and polyacrylic acid

 The effect of biopolymeric additives (e.g. PAA) on calcium sulfate dihydrate (gypsum) crystal growth and morphology

 Development of evaluation method for crystal growth by 2-D particle size analysis with SCION Image software

 Soft Lithorgaphy-Preparation of PDMS micromolding stamp with SYLGARD 184 (Dow Corning)

 Deposition of a patterned PILP phase with precise control

 Enhancement of liquid crystal copolyester films for MCM-L packaging

 Investigation of annealing effect on biaxially extruded liquid crystal copolyester films (Xydar, Vectra, and Zenite) by FOSTER-MILLER, Inc.

 Effect of annealing on thermal expansion and TCN of the LCP films

 Evaluation of adhesion between Cu-LCP laminates

 Stress and failure analysis of LCP films

 Characterized by DSC, TGA, TMA, and Instron

 Reactive extrusion and morphology analysis

 Blending of polyolefins by twin-screw extrusion

 Evaluation of mixing with 2-D morphology analysis on hot stage

SKILLS

 Experienced in most polymer processing techniques: Injection molding, single and twin screw extrusion, compression molding, blow molding, film blowing, calendering, thermoforming, and rotational molding

 Thermal analysis: MFI, capillary rheometer, DSC, TGA, TMA

 Microscopy: SEM, AFM, and OM

 Computer skills: FORTRAN, Solidworks, Moldflow, MATLAB, Mathematica, ANSYS, web design, Adobe Photoshop, PC hardware troubleshooting

 Other skills: FTIR, E-beam lithography, INSTRON, vapor deposition
