Mission Assurance Manager (2011- Present)

Responsible for all Quality and Reliability related processes and programs with particular emphasis on NASA related flight hardware used in various satellite and instrument clusters. Primary point of contact for all Quality related certifications and subsequent compliance audits to ISO 9000:2008 and AS9100C. Execute corporate Quality System initiatives and requirements.

Develop and maintain appropriate site metrics using the LQS database as a basis

Support customer proposal review/negotiations and contract review for all quality requirements.

Quality Assurance Manager - Space Programs (2003 – 2010)

Responsibilities include the direction of eight direct reports and assigned consultants across several Space Programs. Provide QA support from RFQ through delivery on developmental hardware, Qual items, and, Production flight units. Disposition Material Rejection Reports for both internal and externally sourced items. Review and suggest changes to drawings for Critical to Quality characteristics and special inspection criteria including PCB/PWB boards, electro-mechanical sub-assemblies, and complex optical assemblies. Resolve manufacturability and process quality issues. Initiate, review, validate and approve Supplier Corrective Action Responses. Support all manner of hardware development and inspection including: electronic components, hybrid microelectronics, electro-mechanical assemblies, and, circuit card assemblies.

Inspection and Metrology Team Lead (2001 – 2003)

Coordinate internal audit function to ensure consistency of performance to standards and ISO 9000. Provide and maintain training records for fifteen direct reports that included receiving, in process, and final inspections of all sub-assembly, integration, and testing of product. Oversee the layout inspection operation to ensure dimensional tolerencing to engineering drawings. Maintain the mechanical calibration department including identification, control, documentation, calibration and the plant wide recall system to ensure traceability to N.I.S.T. standards. Provide feedback to the performing department when issues arose or trends become apparent. Control an overall yearly budget of 2.25 M.

Lucent Technologies - Staten Island, New York

Production Manager - Fiber Optic Metallization ((1999 – 2001)

Responsible for the start-up and subsequent ramp-up of the fiber metallization program for the facility. This included the design and installation of a class 1000 clean room, hiring, training staff members, and initial hourly associates, optimizing Electro-less nickel and immersion gold metallization processes, destructive testing, inspection, quality assurance, and shipping. Initiated SOP’s for all processes and maintained same when changes were instituted. Primary liaison to customer for implementation of changes as requested.

AlliedSignal Aerospace - Teterboro, N.J.

Manager Precision Machining (1997 – 1999)

Responsibilities included coordinating all machine shop tasks to provide high quality precision parts and subassemblies to both internal and external customers. Maintain and control 4.7M budget with emphasis on reducing SRV (scrap, rework and variance). Managed six direct reports with an overall broad control of fifty plus operators in a three shift operation

Production Engineer - Space Station Control Moment Gyroscope (1995 – 1997)

Responsibilities included being the primary program liaison to support production in the identification, documentation, and, resolution of issues that could potentially jeopardize the timely delivery schedules, or, quality of deliverables. These include processes, specifications, equipment, tooling, documentation, bills of material, method sheets, inspections, operator errors, and resource conflicts. Coordinated daily status meetings with program management, quality assurance, quality control, materials management, customers, and, production personnel.

Manufacturing Team Leader - Inertial Guidance and Avionics (1992 - 1995)

Responsibilities included the coordination of final assembly, testing and integration of inertial navigation systems, printed circuit boards, electrical harnessing, sub-assemblies, and, final integration of land and space military navigational systems. Control the flow of materials, manpower and inventory to assure monthly quotas. Ensure the thoroughness of assembly and testing to comply with strict government / customer specifications and standards.
