I supervised the Summer Reading Program for our campus. This is a one month reading camp for at-risk readers.

I supervised the student teachers that were assigned to our campus to observe our summer program.

1993-1994

I served on the Campus Leadership Team. I was elected to this one year position. I served as Team Leader.

1994-1995

I served on the Human Relations Committee.

1995 - 1996

I served on the Human Relations Committee.

I served on the S.S.T. Committee (Phase I and II).

I became a National Board Certified Teacher.

1996 - 1997

I served on the Human Relations Committee.

I served as a Teacher Mentor.

I served as a consultant for the Professional Association of Georgia Educator. I helped seven of their candidates complete their work and pass their National Board Certification.

1997 - 1998

I was asked to give a presentation to the faculty on National Board Certification. I also served as a contact and mentor for anyone interested in becoming Nationally Certified.

I served as a "on-call-helper" for four months when the faculty was required to complete a 50 hour survey class on personal computers required by DeKalb County Board of Education.
I served on the editorial sub-committee of the Strategic Planning Committee to set the goals for the county for the next five years.

I have created a free, educational website for students, parents and educators. This website is differentiated and helps teachers present the standards and incorporate technology into their lesson plans.

PROFESSIONAL RECOGNITION:

Georgia Stakeholders Luncheon and Meeting for the National Board for Professional Teaching Standards recognized me as a National Board Certified Teacher.-1996

DeKalb County Board of Education presented me with a plaque in recognition for receiving National Board Certification. - 1996

U.S. Department of Education - The State of American Education Address- Richard W. Riley, U.S. Secretary of Education. I was invited to the Carter Presidential Center to hear the Secretary of Education give The State of American Education Address. - 1997

PAGE Day on Capitol Hill. I was invited to a reception for The Governor in which he recognized the National Board Certified Teachers that were present. There were four of us. - 1997

I was chosen by the faculty to receive the Honor Teacher Award given by the Atlanta Journal Constitution - 1998

I was asked by the Principal to be the kindergarten representative for all parents coming to observe the school. - 1998

I was asked to speak at a teacher's conference regarding National Board Certification by the Superintendent of Schools for the State of Georgia- 1998

I was asked to be the representative author for the state of Georgia in a book for award winning teachers on excellent teaching practices. - 1999

I was asked to mentor teachers, on line, through the Georgia Teacher Center. - 2005

V0LUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES:

I designed a process by which all of the teachers at my child's preschool could receive the supplies that they needed on a weekly basis. 2003 - 2004

I organized the teacher resource library and the school library so that it was easy to access for the teachers, students and parents at the school. 2004 - 2005

I helped to teach language arts and math in my child's kindergarten class using the Montessori Method. 2005 - 2006

I am worked as a volunteer for Literacy Volunteers of Atlanta. I work as a tutor teaching adults how to read and write. I work with both native English speakers and English for Speakers of Other Languages. 2009 – 2010
