Professional Synopsis

Good experience in inspection (Mechanical / Painting Coating /Insulation) & Quality Control in fabrication, installation and testing of process and utility piping work, pipeline work, pressure vessel and offshore steel structures like jacket, deck, bridge etc. in the field of oil and gas development, gas processing and liquefaction, refining, petrochemical construction work and plant inspection in onshore and offshore.

Organizational Details

Since 03 February 2004 to 24 November 2011 with Pakistan Oilfield (Private) Ltd as QA/QC Inspector (Painting , coating & insulation)

Review of documents like job procedures, QCP, painting specifications and procedures etc. for compliance of the concerned codes and standards, additional requirements as per specification, sequence of activities, coating scheme and job hazard analysis.

Responsible for inspection works for sandblasting and painting.

Monitoring atmospheric conditions: humidity, temperature, dew point.

Check paint, abrasive materials and equipments condition.

Responsible for verifying that the coatings applied at site is applied in accordance with the technical specifications, procedures and manufactures recommendations & each activity as per ITP.

Inspection of surface and weather before painting & abrasive blasting.

Attend and contribute to site and project technical meetings as necessary

Surveillance inspection of all pipeline field coating activities

Initial inspection of field joint coating to ensure that all the activities meet the specification, code and standard requirements

According to the ITP, organize an inspection schedule and contract company inspectors for their witnessing, clearing of the hold joints in accordance of the ITP.

Inspection of blasting and painting applications of underground pipes and supports in accordance with paint system specification and manufactures data sheets

Witness the holiday test on fusion bonded epoxy (FBE) coating and repair of holidays in accordance with specification

Inspection activities in surface preparations works, paint application in accordance to the approved quality assurance plan

Prepare and request for inspection (RFI) and checklists in accordance to approved inspection technical plan

Ensure surface cleanliness prior to coating application (primer / topcoat)

Monitor and check Wet film / Dry film requirements as per standard

Supervise coatings for any paint defects for touch up repair

Check the daily inspection report completed by the crew supervisor

To check the repair procedure and re inspect

To inspect and prepare the reports according to standards and client specification

Carrying out inspection for all paint shop painting work

Cold insulation of Ammonium gas pipeline of 1 inch 2 inch 3 inch 8” . Diameter, by using PUF (Poly Urethane Fluoride) material.

Aluminum cladding after insulation.

Cold pipeline insulation by thermo coal.

Hot insulation of flue gas duct by using LRB (Light Resin Bonded) Mattress of thickness 40mm, 60mm, 120mm.)

G.I Sheet cladding after hot insulation.

Invading the require insulation material from company.

Preparation of weakly progress report.

Preparation of daily material consumption report.

Review and monitor of contractors QA/QC procedures, method statements and TPI reports .Coordinate and advice contractor during critical activities or during conflict of codes, specifications and give technical inputs. Surveillance and hold point stage wise inspection to avoid critical failure, identifying the non compliance and proposing corrective and preventive action at the right stage.

Attending construction progress meetings, quality meetings and kick off meetings, monitoring fabrication and erection activities contractors as per the approved inspection and test plan (ITP), applicable international codes, methods statements, various quality control procedures, etc. monitoring the repair rate, non-conformance, areas of concerns, advising corrective actions and ensuring project documentation and records. Review of test packs, preparation of punch list and review of project dossiers and as built drawings,

Responsible of inspection works for sandblasting and coating application & preparation of coating material, storage of coating & abrasive material expendable abrasive shell be meet the requirements of SSPC AB1 & steel grit abrasive shell meet the requirements of SSPC AB3 & equipments inspection prior to start the work .

Calibrate equipments as per SSPC PA-2

Proceed all necessary tests(blotter test, salt determination test, adhesion test curing test, flexibility test, hardness tests, etc) .

Check WFT to determined exact minimum DFT as per SSPC PA 2 reference standard for dry film thickness .

Make report of each inspected & tested & accepted step as per ITP.
