Report to the CEO and responsible for the overall IT including Application & Software Development, Ecommerce & Mobile development, Business Intelligence and Reporting, ERP, CRM and IT infrastructure.

Evaluated, selected and implemented a state of the art ecommerce platform (hybris) to enable global expansion, multiple sites in multiple countries and geographies (US, APAC, Europe) from a state of disjointed/organically developed websites to a single platform that can scale easily.

Partnered with CFO to evaluate and implement new ERP system to reconcile financials, inventory management, supply chain, order management and demand forecasting.

First Vice President of IT/Enterprise Apps, Retail and Home Loans Channels 2007 – 2008

Reported to the Chief Information Officer and was responsible for all Application Development and oversaw the “Build” function for home loans and retail channels.

Oversaw teams in charge of application architecture, design & development and QA (manual & automated), application support and vendor management covering WaMu online, internet banking, data, mobile and other major software initiatives.

Employed the offshore model and managed a team of 200+ functional and technical experts blending FTE’s, consultants and offshore staff in India.

Based on the sense of urgency, within 45 days of announcement, reviewed org goals, worked with my boss/CIO to adjust them and developed a 90 day and 2 year strategy including immediate organizational adjustments.

Lead the development of the next generation WaMu web services platform using SOA that supported order management.

Oversaw the delivery (partnering with my peers) 5 months ahead of time and 20% under budget, the largest software development effort at WaMu, for a Simple Loan Origination System - SLiM (a 3 year $120 million effort). This effort alone had nearly 25+ releases each year and achieved savings of more than $6 mill per year.

Streamlined a Global 7/24 Application Support (Level 1, 2) organization through improved SLAs, for global internal and external facing applications (Banking applications, Oracle Financials & PeopleSoft HR).

Drove a 7-month, $9M rebuild of an 8-year-old internet banking application, enabling single sign-on, a Web2.0 user interface, improved user authentication for sensitive transactions and quicker ramp-up for offshore dev teams, enabling a $1.6M/yr cost savings.

Directed a 6-month $8M, multi system integration project to allow instant online opening of paperless checking accounts, increasing new account applications from 100 to 2700 per day, saving ~$1.2M per year in handling costs.

Directed a 10-month $12M hardware and security uplift project for WaMu to build a scalable, secure, internet banking platform to support 6M active customers.

Led the successful design and implementation of the CHAMP (Customer Household Account Marketing and Profitability) data warehouse housing WaMu’s 40 million accounts and 20 million households, the 4th largest Data Warehouse in the country of its type.
