CAREER OBJECTIVE

Seeking challenging and rewarding career as an electrical engineer with a focus on improving existing – and developing new – RF and

wireless technologies

EDUCATION

Master of Science in Electrical Engineering - 3.81GPA Expected: June 2012

University of Cincinnati, Cincinnati, OH

Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering - 3.02GPA June 2007

University of Cincinnati, Cincinnati, OH

-College of Engineering Dean’s List

-Cincinnatus Scholarship

RESEARCH

Master’s thesis research: Developed a process to enable silicon-on-sapphire microwave devices to be fabricated side-by-side with superconducting microwave devices, avoiding potential degradation of the superconducting material that would be normally result from most silicon processing procedures. Fabricated a high-Tc superconducting resonator.

Senior research project: Researched and optimized a Siemens RFID system for non-ideal conditions. Specifically, the effects of water and metal were documented as well as the best way to configure the system with these materials present in the field, while maintaining practicality.

EXPERIENCE

University of Cincinnati, Cincinnati, OH -- Sept. 2007 – Sept. 2010

Teaching and Research Assistant – Measurements Lab

-Assisted students in conducting weekly laboratory procedures

-Directed students towards successful completion of experiments and facilitated the student’s comprehension of their purposes.

-Developed grading rubrics for each experiment’s lab report and assigned grades accordingly.

General Cable Headquarters, Highland Heights, KY -- June 2006 – Sept. 2007

Electrical Lab Manager/Assistant Datacomm Engineer

-Responsible for efficient operation of the electrical lab in all aspects, as well as assisting the datacomm engineers with standard daily tasks.

-Evaluated the viability of a simulation software through application of theory to real-life situations to explain possible reasons for discrepancies seen between measured and simulated data.

-Maintained a lean laboratory environment utilizing proprietary methods and programs as well as industry wide standards.

-Advised on improving safety mechanisms in the electrical laboratory, supplying functionality requirements to the architect, and assisting in structure design possibilities.

General Cable Headquarters, Highland Heights, KY -- Dec. 2005 – March. 2006

Electrical Lab Co-op

Daily duties include analyzing customer complaints, benchmarking new products, quality control, plant evaluations and production analysis; also advised less experienced co-op employees on lab procedures and safety protocol.

-Developed a procedure to determine the absence or presence of a cable property to protect against patent infringement.

-Completed material analysis of competitor category 5e cable through close work with the onsite chemical lab.

-Completed cost analysis of competitor category 5e cable based on data collected from material analysis and compared results with GCC category 5e cable.

General Cable Headquarters, Highland Heights, KY -- June. 2005 – Sept. 2005

Electrical Lab Co-op

-Analyzed the effects on attenuation of category 5e and category 6 cables under elevated temperature and humidity environmental conditions.

-Assembled report to be presented to upper management to determine if experiment could change the industry standard of cable attenuation under harsh environments.

-Updated cable sample archiving and organization to contribute to a lean laboratory environment.
