Overall Responsibilities:

• Perform inspection in all stages of coating /painting as per the ITP/drawings/procedures.

• Preparation /verification of painting /blasting procedure as per client /international standards

• Maintaining calibration records of all painting instruments & updating the same.

• Preparation of the paint / abrasive consumption & monitoring the stock on day to day basis.

• Verification of abrasive size/type to achieve the required anchor profile /pattern as per datasheet

/procedure.

• Monitoring of paint /abrasive storage as per manufacturer recommendation & checking the batch no/ colour & verifying paint product data sheet.

• Co-Ordinate with client /sub contractors/Third party inspectors on daily basis to resolve any Quality issues/paint failures & provide solutions.

• Attend the progress/project/weekly meeting with client/sub contractor &scheduling the blasting /painting activities for keeping the progress plan with project schedule/Quality.

• Witness blaster/ painter qualification test & review their qualification.

• Resolving NCR in all stages of painting /coating/blasting activity & follow up of corrective action implementation in latter stages.

• Preparing Daily/Weekly/Monthly progress Reports, Inspection Reports, Adhesion and Holiday Inspection reports including performing /demonstrating the required tests & review of final inspection records/dossier.

• Monitoring and recording the environmental conditions during blasting and painting application.

• Conducting/ witnessing holiday /pinhole/pullout test to evaluate the paint defects.

• Witnessing chloride contamination test using bristle patch &estimation of chloride content as per manufacturer recommendation.

• Checking/witnessing the paint characteristics using paint test panels with client/Third party inspector.

• Visual inspection of the steel members after blasting prior to painting.

• Checking random surface profile readings on the blasted members with Testex tape.

• Checking the WFT /DFT& carrying out visual inspection for any coating acceptance..

• Monitoring the mixing of coatings and recording the batch ID of paint /Thinners.

• Inspection of blasting/painting equipment condition prior to use.

• Witness Final Inspection of galvanized coating as per ASTM 123.

• Take care about the safety of all persons during production & aim the job towards without accident.

• Planning for coating activities (surface preparation, painting, etc.) based on project drawings and specifications& obtaining company permits required for work.

• Plan & Allocation of proper day to day manpower, tool/tackles/machinery required to reduce the production cost.and to complete the project in stipulated time frame.
