I have the knowledge and experience of caring and working with elderly population with severe and mild mental illness; therefore, I am submitting the enclosed resume for the consideration for the caregiver/companion position. I have a combine of over three years of experience counseling and caring for individuals struggling with intellectual, physical, social, and emotional disorders. During my work experience, I have mainly developed therapeutic experience working with the elderly population suffering from mental disability, behavioral issues, Alzheimer, dementia, and Depression. As an undergraduate I have worked with Adanta eldercare providing basic and intense care and counseling to clients suffering from early stage of Alzheimer to the late stage providing them with personal care. On the other hand, I have also worked with underprivileged kids struggling with behavioral problems during the summer at Upward Bound Program, and at the Adanta Behavioral Clinic. Within, my years of counseling and care providing I have grown significantly as person and a therapist to provide better services for clients; and the passion to care for my elders.

Outside the therapeutic environment I was the graduate assistant for the Lindsey Wilson College women’s soccer program. I have played four year of collegiate soccer in which I was the captain during my senior year. Providing leadership is one of my best assets along with being a team player. Having the experience of being a part of a team helps me developed mentally and socially. It also broadens my horizon as a therapist because it provides me with eclectic techniques and ideas about working with individuals and their presenting problems. Therefore, working in this population has provided me with the ability to build rapport, be trust worthy, and educating while learning from others simultaneously. I am confident I would excel in this position because I was born as an agent of change and my athletic background offers an advantage in better developing creative ways to facilitate while working with clients in their own environment or/and abilities.
