Lockheed Martin Wescam MX-20 FSR / PTDS: Persistent Threat Detection System

AUGUST 2010 to Present

Tasks required: Launch and recovery of 74k Aerostat. All-encompassing maintenance procedures, ensuring maximum time aloft, with minimal failures. Not only with the Aerostat but the mooring platform as well, including generators required to fly and supply power to the ground support modules.

Duties include and are not limited to: Computer networking, Fiber Optics Budgeting and implementation, video feed, video capture, video routing, camera maintenance and repair. I possess an understanding and working knowledge of CLAW 2, OSRVT, UTAMS and PSDS2 platforms. Assisted US Army with installing the fiber optic network, using fusion splicers, MUX, DE-MUX and media converters required to deliver video feed to their TOC.

Wescam FSR. Attended and completed factory MX-20 IMAGING TURRET SYSTEM in Burlington Ontario Wescam Facility.

Other non-mission essential, voluntary abilities: Creating suitable working environments conducive to repair of system electronics and mechanics, by any means necessary including using carpentry skills.

Able to work one on one with military command, government agencies, and other contractors, to obtain a smooth and respectful working relationship.

Using clean room experience, I was called to install a camera shop clean-room, to safely remove covers, exposing the delicate inner workings of the Wescam MX-20. The first clean room of its kind anywhere in theater.

Area Mechanic / Comm Technician: Tasked with troubleshooting, retrofitting and maintaining network communication systems such as Orion and Tops nets. Also responsible for launch pad remote, optical systems from COHU and Pelco cameras and remote heads. Optical networking, using multiplexors and data extenders, line amplifiers. Have had all training required by our contract regarding Cape Canaveral area familiarity and safety including clean room and launch pads.

CABLE / FIBER OPTICS: Responsible for planning and implementing, the laying copper and fiber optic cable, terminate or breakout pairs and or fibers to customers specifications. Utilized Fujikara Fusion Fiber Slicers. and all associated tools to assure proper connectivity.

METRIC OPTICS: Tasked with “Eastern Range Safety”, and responsible for the operation, calibration and maintenance of Cinetheodolites, DOAMS, MIGOR and ATOTS tracking instrumentation. Responsibilities include audio and video recording of scheduled vehicle launches, repair and maintenance including state of the art proprietary high speed computer networks, high definition camera and recording systems, analysis and repair of computer, servo, digital timing and control systems. Duties also include keeping accurate documentation of equipment issues and their resolve. Able to interpret schematics and mechanical drawings as needed to create design changes accurately. Required to troubleshoot networks with concerns to timing, communications and telemetry.

Panavision factory trained on the 24P HD CAMERA or Sony F900 , experience with the Panavision Genesis High Definition Camera System. Maintained and operated Panavision, Arri and Moviecam motion picture equipment. This includes robot systems from Moto-man and Equipe, motor control systems from Berkley as well as hydraulic and pneumatic systems. Instrumental in the programming of logic control systems for machine automation. Also responsible for mounting and maintaining Dalsa industrial camera used for production surveillance. Also responsible for compiling process data, managing experimentation and providing vendors with proper drawings and schematics for on-site tool modifications. • Lead Missile Engineer Aug 90 to Apr 94

Overseeing 10 technicians in the refurbishment and repair, of NATO Seasparrow missile systems. The use of remote gantry systems, cranes and extreme capacity forklifts were required to see each system to its completion. Also organized the development of the facility machine shop and was responsible for the fabrication of parts necessary to the Seasparrow program saving Raytheon thousands of dollars per year. Was required to interface with vendors to provide service to government specifications.
