Network Security Engineer

Serve as a main technical presence for setting up the new data center in West Des Moines, IA. Responsible for purchasing, architecture and set up of Cisco NAC in the environment North America wide including redundant CAM’s and CAS’s in both wired and wireless implementations. Set up Cisco NAC Guest Server. Help in the deployment of wireless anchors and wireless access point installation and setup consisting of Cisco 5500 WLC’s and multiple types of AP. Installed and setup WCS to manage the wireless environment, building maps for each of the Aviva Campuses. Set up and administration of Cisco ASA’s, 6500’s, 4500’s, Nexus 7K’s, 5K’s, 2K’s and multiple access swiches. Administration of Check Point Firewalls. Installed Tuffin, an appliance to help with auditing of Firewall changes both ASA’s and Check Points. PCI Network Security Manager/Engineer

Served as the driving force for PCI compliance for major credit card order company, ensuring that the equipment, networks, etc. are protected by access list, placed behind firewalls, and, separated from wireless networks, etc. Accomplish PCI compliancy by ordering or upgrading new and existing hardware locked down and can only be accessed by secure means, via SSH V. 2, snmp strings are in place, devices warnings are sent to Log Logic and Mars for monitoring as well as Cisco Works. Implement new hardware to include ASA 5510’s, 5520’s and 5540’s, install and configure 6500’s, 2950’s, 4500’s, 2800’s, and 7200’s. Install and implement intrusion detection cards on the ASA’s, place data Vlans, PCI screen scrape servers and wireless behind the firewalls and implement rules and access lists. Part of the Global Network Services team, coordinating installs with the site techs, directors and PM’s of the clients. Work with several teams to ensure new installs are PCI compliant, and, act as mentor to newer guys, ensuring that installs and implementations are done with accuracy and consistency. Install and configure Digi’s to be able to access the devices via console cable incase of failure or boot to rommon mode.
