Recently I was employed with Glen Hawbaker as a General Superintendent. When the economy began to demise, our company fell from 40 million dollars in available work to 1 million dollars worth in my division. The company had to terminate 900 employees including me. I then went to American Infrastructure and again the economy was continuing to struggle. During that time, American Infrastructure let go of more than 100 employees. I am now looking for a job with your company and would be great asset. I am very interested in your company and would like the opportunity to have the chance to interview for this position.
My experience over the years varies from commercial to industrial site work, including hazmat cleanup at steel mills and landfills, foundations, storm sewers, sanitary lines to new construction in steel, chemical and power plants. I do road & bridge projects; have done projects ranging from $500,000 to 169 million plus. The most recent job was for Federal Highway Administration, building new roadway through Ft. Belvoir, Va., for American Infrastructure. I made the company over one million dollars in extras however, financial problems plagued the company and 100 employees were dismissed within two days.
My excavation projects I have done range from 20,000 yds to 8 ½ million yards in various types of soils from clay to rock which included blasting and landfill projects ranging from 25 acres to 125 acres are also a huge part of my career.
I also do demolition projects. I have done large commercial & industrial buildings, stacks, large foundations as well as other projects .
My primary duties are managing and administering heavy & highway construction and site development projects to ensure and promote good quality and job productivity, safety and development of employees. Other duties include providing field management for projects from beginning to end to include but not limited to project scheduling, change order prices and negotiation, project administration, job cost review, billings, collections, project meeting and project close-out. I manage financial aspects of contracts (fee payment, rental equipment income/expenses, etc) to protect company’s interest and maintain good relationships with the customers
I setup key field positions through Project Supt. or Mgr. and or Foreman as well as planning & organizing work. Effective communication, verbal & written within the organization as well as vendors, subcontractors, owners, engineers and all individuals involved in the project is a must for all concerned. Also enforcing company policies and procedures is very important for a safe and profitable project. Experience in estimating and scheduling using HCSS software to report job costs and other tasks is an asset also.
