Mercy Medical Center had its most successful events in the Hospitals history during Ms. DeLong’s tenure. The Special Events Program raised in excess of $1,000,000.00 in net revenues. This represented and increase of 200%.

Accomplishments:

• Planned and executed special events program which promoted Mercy Medical Center and its services.

• Supervised the Council of Leagues and the Friends of Mercy in their fund-raising activities.

• Created theme for events. Coordinated all graphics related to events.

• Secured chairman for specific events (golf, tennis, Mercy Ball and men’s St. Pat’s Dinner).

• Networked with Friends of Mercy to cultivate increased giving potential and identified potential donors for major gift campaign.

• Coordinated activities of staff engaged in maintaining records of donors.

• Recruited and expanded committee structure for special events program.

• Planned and coordinated golf outing at 3 different locations.

• Organized dinner dances on Long Island with over 800 guests attending.

Planned and managed fundraising events including Career Fair, Annual Awards Luncheon and Dinner Dance. Fundraising from these events netted over $400,000.00 annually. This represented and increase of 35%.

Accomplishments:

• Implemented a successful college internship program for students with disabilities. The program received outstanding corporate support, and received a $40,000 grant from the Dole Foundation. The intern program resulted in the placement of 45 interns with major corporations.

• Inaugurated and Annual Awards Luncheon.

• Organized the annual dinner dance in New York City with over 400 guests attending.

• Managed all aspects of office and administrative services including the development of office policies and procedures.

• Prepared letter for acknowledgement and direct mail solicitation program.

• Introduced telephone solicitation.

• Planned and managed largest and most successful Job Rally and Career Fair in the history of the agency. The event attracted over forty Fortune 500 companies with qualified applicants with disabilities.

Prior to seeking full-time employment, I contributed my services as a volunteer for a number of non-profit community based agencies over an eight year period in various leadership posts. It was during this period that I honed my fund-raising and organizational skills.
