SYNGENTA CROP PROTECTION, St. Gabriel, LA: December 2007 – August 2011

Process Engineer:

• Served as a Process Engineer on projects between $10K to $7MM while backfilling as a project engineer as needed

• Served as a Process Engineer with a team of three process engineers on a seven million dollar expansion project (2010-2011) with a payback of 2.7 years

• Actively involved in the process design teams for two multi-million dollar expansions and unit improvements for on-site bulk storage across three sites.

• Aided the maintenance department by implementing all FEED packages for expense projects over $3K in materials, i.e. replacement in kind equipment due to mechanical failure or deemed over its useful life span, re-lining of vessels and changing of material of construction for piping due to corrosion analyses, checking of shop sheets against returned equipment to ensure all parts are of the correct specifications

• Evaluated new technology for all new equipment introduced to the site focusing on decreasing utility usage and increase efficiency and overall reliability

• Utilized PI trends to determine where the process could be optimized ie decreasing utilities usages

• Utilized LEAN Manufacturing principles in day to day tasks by attending weekly Tier meetings for assigned unit and daily Tier meetings for my department

• Participated in Level II and III Process Hazard Analyzes for PSM / RMP covered processes ie. Increasing the Onsite Storage Capacity of TDI/MDI, and for all process work completed within the HCN facility

• Lead two ten year Process Risk Revalidations for non-covered PSM facilities for the Utilities Unit and a Formulations Unit site

• Modified and created new P&IDs and PFDs for all process changes with emphasizes on identifying all LDAR covered process lines and equipment for regulatory compliance

• Average completion of 15 front end development scopes per year which included 50% estimate, business justification, preliminary datasheets, all associated calculations, redlined/greenlined P&IDs, detailed change table, and preliminary installation/start-up schedule

• Revalidated relief device systems to determine if properly sized for application

• Created and updated Standard Operating Manuals and Standard Operating Procedures as needed to reflect implemented projects.

CARGILL SWEETNERS NORTH AMERICA, Memphis, TN: June 2006 – November 2007

Reliability Project Engineer:

• Coordinated and oversaw the installation of over $800K in maintenance upgrades in less than one year

• Actively involved in Safety Committee

• Implemented changes on an existing unit operation to yield approximately $600K per year savings in unnecessary downtime.

• Trialing of new enzymes for the conversion of dextrose to fructose on pilot continuous production scale; results for this trial were adapted throughout the company

• Utilized laboratory equipment such as an HPLC to test for amounts and percentages sugar conversion
