Field Technician

• Provide routine maintenance and support for GSM UTRAN network utilizing Ericsson 3418 UMTS/WCMA RBS & the 2200 family of indoor and outdoor RBSs operating in the GSM 900, GSM 1800 and GSM 1900 bands.

• RBS 2100 outdoor version RBS (2101,2102& 2103)

• Ericsson’s micro outdoor RBS 2302 including installation, testing and commissioning.

• Integration, installation and commissioning of Ericsson multi-core/ Multi-Standard Radio (MSR) RBS 6000 LTE base stations.

• Respond to Work Order request by Operation Maintenance Center staff to appropriate RBS site.

• Conduct fault tracing & fault localization to trouble-shoot and fix problem using associated tools and applications like Ericsson’s Operation and Maintenance Terminal software.

• Set up and support Cell-Site on Wheels (C.O.W) to provide expanded cellular network coverage, or capacity at special events, or in disaster areas utilizing satellite Very Small Aperture Terminal (VSAT) backhauls.

• Trouble-shoot T1/T3 connections using T-Berd 9000

• Replace faulty unit/s and conduct comprehensive test to verify RBS is functioning properly before placing it in remote state with BSC.

• Effectively manage project mile stones and deliveries through Microsoft Projects & SAP software.

• Assist Development Engineering team to create/update network topology diagrams of RBS subsystems utilizing Microsoft Visio Enterprise Network Tools and Network Center software.

• Label defective units and send back to service depot for repairs if needed.

• Complete and submit work order report with nature of problem and root cause.

• Follow proper safety and administrative guidelines for personal and departmental rules set by OSHA.

• Support RF Engineer group with network optimization performance by conducting functional drive test using Ericsson TEMS software

• Conduct schedule preventative maintenance checks of all RBS equipment and RF calibration of transceiver units and Combiner Distribution units.

• Complete timely acceptance testing, commissioning and site integration of new RBS sites.

• Provide flexible 24 hr on-call support and response to high priority external/internal alarms emergencies by the Operation and Maintenance staff.
