Provided project management, business analysis, retail strategy, integration services and e-business solutions for a variety of retail customers. Provided expertise in leadership / Change Management guidance, problem solving and resolution on a variety of diverse projects throughout the US:
Developed product development and item introduction tool that streamlined item development and introduction, reduced data errors by 95%, and new item set up time by 50% resulting in a tool recognized as “best in the industry” by vendors and suppliers. Led change management, training, and communication plan for both client and its vendor partners. The client copyrighted the custom software. This was the first and only software copyright in its history. Led change management and training to include trading partners and suppliers. Supplier business partners called this portal “the best they ever seen”.
This successful implementation also included the install of Oracle Retail Demand Forecasting (RDF), Oracle Merchandise Financial Planning, (MFP), and Oracle Allocation modules. Mark led and supervised the development of user test scripts and scenarios. The test script scenario plan that was also used as a key enabler of training, which streamlined the training design and execution plan. The successful execution of the project allowed client to consolidate, standardize and streamline multiple business planning departments, reducing total corporate planning hours by over 40%.Marks team was then asked to customized the Oracle key planning tool to recommend re-orders to each DC by SKU, which reduced ordering time by 25%. Mark led a change management plan that resulted in organizational transformation and corporate streamlining. The project delivered SG+A improvement for corporate as well as individual business units. This project also served to standardized retail merchandise planning processes that were previously disparate among 5 corporate brand divisions
Led team of seven business analysts in the acquisition and documentation of enhancement / extensions, design, user acceptance testing and development of change management and training plans for the implementation of the Oracle Retail Merchandising Suite. Additionally led the successful execution of the conference room pilot (CRP)
Led business analysis and design documentation for ORACLE OTM (G-Log) for a major ERP implementation of Oracle Retail. Identified organizational changes and new business processes needed to support new system. Reviewed and identified clients existing work process and dataflow, developed and implemented new process which transferred data entry workload from client to vendor saving salary expenses for client which contributed to the successful implementation of a global transport management system consistent with industry best practices

International purchase order tracking tool (Celarix / GES), which saved more than $2.5M in reduced import freight costs over five years
Direct store delivery/grocery receiving system (Softechnics), which saved over $5M in shrinkage savings and missed promo allowances over five years
Advanced Transportation Management tool (Manugistics) to assign freight cost to individual SKUs and buyers; tool decreasing incoming freight costs by $2.5M over 5 years and maintain SKU margins by inclusion of freight in cost
Distribution Center Yard Management System (Catalyst), which improved efficiencies and reduced costs
Led scope charter and discovery of return on investment on POS and Warehouse Management upgrade projects
Implemented packaged Freight Payment System (Manugistics) that reduced payroll and alerted merchants to out-of-tolerance freight costs saving $3M in payroll over 5 years.
Served as member of multiple cross-functional project teams, which internally developed strategy for a warehouse consolidation as a result of an acquisition. The team installed / implemented technology solutions which revamped and streamlined business processes for the acquisition company resulting in reduced overall costs (such as transportation and WMS) for the combined companies
Developed a custom Advanced Ship Notice Receiving (ASN) in a subsidiary division, leveraging existing parent company’s technology to reduce implementation costs which reduced receiving time by 35% annually
Led research and ultimate implementation Scan-Based trading project that reduced corporate inventories by $7M and significantly reduced shrinkage
Led detailed analysis and scope / benefit of Data Synchronization project which saved $12M over five years
Upgraded and enhanced packaged Collaborative Product Development tool, resulting in process efficiencies and increased speed to market for import private label products which resulted in a $4M increase in sales
