Scan Based Trading (SBT) is a trading model in which the retailer pays the vendor based on the goods sold thru the retailer’s Point of Sale (POS) system. The items are marked for SBT using Java screens. At the beginning of each roll out the vendor buys back all ToysRUs owned inventory using Return to Vendor (RTV) process and in-store inventory would be zero. Sales will negatively impact the inventory whereas returns will positively impact the inventory. The weekly consignment process will generate the PO’s, invoice, receipts and debit memos depending on whether there is a net sale or return.
