OBJECTIVE
Obtain an entry level position which will provide an opportunity to apply and develop engineering skills by working to design and improve devices and applications.
EDUCATION
Bachelor of Science in Engineering, Mechanical Engineering
Arizona State University Tempe, AZ
May 2009
TECHNICAL SKILL
• Tools: SolidWorks, ANSYS, LabVIEW, PSpice
• Operating Systems: Windows XP, 2000
• Applications: MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, MatLab, Maple
PROJECTS
• Aero Design Project: Worked within a team to design, build, and analyze a remote controlled airplane for a Society of Automotive Engineers Aero Design competition. The competition rules was to design, present, and fly a plane that can lift a maximum payload while being limited by a set engine size and total maximum weight which included the payload and plane. This was conducted using ANSYS, MatLab, and Tornado for design and analysis. The competition resulted in a third place finish in the open competition against other colleges with teams of greater numbers and years of past participation.
• Thermal Analysis: Worked within a team to design, build, and analyze a solar heated water heater for an advanced thermodynamics class. The water heater was designed to be a portable unit that focuses the energy of the sun onto a pipe system of flowing water to provide heated water. The device was created and tested using Excel to plot the data and determine the efficiency and time it takes to reach desired temperature.
• Energy System Analysis: Worked in a team to design an energy efficient set up for a Farmers Market. The customer desired a “green” low carbon footstep marketplace that could be implemented over a period of time within a low budget. An analysis was created that would take into account the desired goals versus the cost to determine a three stage system of when and which products to install. This analysis was presented to the class as well as to the owner of Farmers Market.
