Director, Technical Services (2000 – 2008)

• Planned, directed and coordinated the operations and priorities of 17 professional staff in cross-functional roles that provided analytical, failure analysis, quality control, product development and physical testing functions. Additionally, managed staff responsible for data entry, legal communications, personnel reviews, customer complaints and record keeping.

• Spearheaded and managed new product development process using the Stage Gate Innovation Process. This was an electronic version, which conformed to ISO protocols. This significantly decreased the overall development time due to increased communication between groups.

• Reviewed all reports and results to ensure proper protocols were used in the investigation, the results were accurate and corrective actions if necessary were enforced.

• Improved staff efficiency by six-fold by providing training (both internal and external) to employees and also closely monitoring and reprioritizing projects on a continual basis.

• Led continuous improvement process to reduce costs, improve efficiency and productivity, and reduce complaint resolution times. Complaint resolution times dropped from and average of six-weeks to less than two-weeks. This 70-percent increase in efficiency led to the ability to target additional projects.
