I-595 Reconstruction Public Private Partnership, FDOT District Four

Deputy Design Manager on $1.2 Billion P3 Project. Coordinated the efforts of multiple design teams to complete an eighteen month design which included ten interchanges over twelve miles of interstate highway. Project introduces three tolled reversible express lanes within the existing right of way.

Beaver Street PD&E, Jacksonville Transportation Authority

Project Manager, lead engineer and primary PE Report author for the PD&E Study of Beaver Street from Devoe Street (proposed Hammond Blvd. interchange) to Edgewood Avenue in Jacksonville Florida.

Collins Road Study, City of Jacksonville, FL

Project Manager for an interchange feasibility study for Collins Road at Roosevelt Boulevard (US 17). Developed interchange alternatives for a location tightly constrained by railroad right-of-way, Naval Air Station Jacksonville and an existing interchange at US 17 and I-295.

Broward Road, City of Jacksonville, FL

Project Manger for the reconstruction of Broward Road from an existing 2-lane 2-way rural roadway to a 3-lane urban road with a 2-way center left turn lane. This 2.7-mile segment of Broward Road includes the reuse of four bridges, added sidewalks and bike lanes, a high water table, and significant utility relocations.

US 1 / Jewfish Creek Bridge Design-Build, FDOT, District Six, Monroe County, FL

Project Engineer for reconstruction of seven miles of US 1, including the addition of two new interchanges and replacing the existing bascule bridge from Key Largo to the Florida mainland with a 1.5 mile high level bridge. Significant issues include poor geotechnical conditions and tight right-of-way and environmental constraints.

SR 70 Design-Build, FDOT, District One, Manatee County, FL

Project Manager from pre-proposal stage through construction for the reconstruction of two miles of six-lane suburban arterial. Engineer of record of the traffic control plan. Negotiated right-of-way donations, utility coordination, noise walls and public involvement were key issues to this project’s success.

I-4 Design-Build, District One, Polk County, FL

Engineer of Record for nine miles of I-4 including reconstructing the interchange with US 27 and mainline widening and resurfacing through the Green Swamp. Interchange design accommodates dense commercial development and existing underground utilities.

Causeway Boulevard Design, FDOT, District Seven, Hillsborough County, FL

Project Engineer and Project Manager. This project included reconstruction of 3 miles of urban arterial. Significant issues included tight right-of-way constraints, R/R crossings, high public interest, and a feasibility study of potential future improvements. Corridor includes R/R crossing, heavy commuter use and high truck traffic serving the Port of Tampa.

District Wide Resurfacing Design, FDOT, District One

Project Manager and Engineer of Record. Designed several resurfacing tasks in Okeechobee, Sarasota, Hendry, and Polk Counties. Projects included shoulder and sidewalk enhancements, added turn lanes and other improvements.

I-75 over the Peace River Design-Build, FDOT, District One, Charlotte County, FL

Engineer of Record for widening, resurfacing and partial reconstruction of 2.7 miles of existing interstate. Project issues included tight geometrical constraints and TCP concerns between existing bridges to be improved. Operational and safety improvements provided to interchanges immediately north and south of the Peace River Bridge.

Blind Pass Road, FDOT, District Seven, St. Pete Beach, FL

Project Engineer for reconstruction of 1 mile of urban arterial roadway through St. Pete Beach, FL. Involved intensive coordination with local government and citizen organizations. Heavy underground utility use required extensive coordination and conflict resolution. Other issues include high water table, tight right-of-way constraints, and heavy pedestrian and bicycle use in a beach community.

Gasparilla Causeway, Gasparilla Island Bridge Authority, Charlotte County, FL

Engineer of Record for reconstruction of 0.5 mile of roadway including a toll plaza site and a signalized intersection with CR 775. Significant issues included high water table and stringent right-of-way constraints. Geometry designed to accommodate future bridge replacement with a high-level structure on a new alignment.

40th Street, City of Tampa, Tampa, FL

Project Manager and Project Engineer for 1.7 miles of reconstruction of urban arterial in northern Tampa. Included two tunnels providing Busch Gardens theme park, with direct access across 40th Street. Maintenance of traffic for the theme park required special consideration. Other issues included signalized intersections, roadway lighting, and a shared use storm water vault under Busch Gardens parking.

I-4 / I-275 Interchange, FDOT, District Seven, Tampa, FL

Project Engineer. Downtown Tampa, complex highway design including multi-level interchange and access road improvements, new ramp alignments and widening of existing roadways and structures. Involves existing concrete pavement evaluation and rehabilitation plans.

Polk Parkway, Sections 4 and 4B, FDOT, Florida's Turnpike Enterprise, Polk County, FL

Project Manager and Engineer of Record. PD&E, final design and post design services on 3.14 miles of expressway on a new alignment. Project includes two interchanges, at Lakeland Highlands Road and US 98, a mainline toll plaza, and ramp toll plazas. Mainline toll plaza design includes provisions for future addition of express Sun-Pass lanes.
