Medical Technologist Generalist / Lead Technologist Microbiology

As the lead technologist in the Department of Microbiology, I oversee all aspects of the department. I am in charge of the policy and procedure manual, quality control, training of personnel and ordering of supplies. I was instrumental in establishing the laboratory wound procedure, which improved patient care, turnaround time and economized the department for cost savings. I author, implement, and train staff in updated standard operating procedures. I supervise bringing new instrumentation like the Microscan Walkaway system into use in the laboratory.

I also work as a Generalist in the areas of Clinical Chemistry, Serology, Immunohematology and Hematology

I am responsible for compliance including preparation for inspection and corrective action.

I work on the hospital committee (SHINE TEAM) that originated and designed the employees’ rewards, recognition program and operation iShine for clutter control in the hospital.
