Academic projects:

Project Title : “Implementation of SCADA using RF Technology”.

Description : Supervisory control and data acquisition (SCADA) systems are computer-controlled, human- monitored systems for collecting and analyzing data. It controls the configuration and action of real-time process control systems. Such systems include geographical distributed utilities such as electrical power grids, Gas pipelines, Electrical power transmission and distribution etc. Since they deal with real time events the hardware and the software configurations of SCADA system must be highly reliable.

The aim of the paper is to develop Real Time Unit (RTU) system and the supervisory system. A wireless connection will be present in between RTU and Supervisory unit. RTU monitors parameters like voltage temperature, and Smoke, and pass the data to supervisory system. Software controlled computer monitors the data and controls a Relay for switching action. The monitored data is stored in a database for the action. The supervisory subsystem commands the RTU to monitor the given parameters with desired threshold. The controlling software runs on Computer with a database to collect data. The controlled action can be initiated by clicking the PC screen buttons.
