Project Partnerships 2006

Partnerships 2006 is a huge program with the vision to change all Bars (Business Investigation report) to the new look & feel with easy to use functionalities and graphical presentation. A phased approach has been planned out where the new look & feel BIR will be rolled for each country one after the other. UK will be first country to have been implemented in this program, followed by Italy, Netherlands, Germany and Spain. A Data Marshalling Service system collects D&B data from different databases and transforms the data into a standard format (GSRL) so that the data can transcend network boundaries. A web service called e-Fabricator fetches XML data from DMS (Data Marshalling Service system) and vends report to different delivery channels. The e-fabricator will be customized for online and offline delivery of Business Information reports, investigated reports and monitoring notices via the premier delivery channels like DBAI. Fabricator uses GSRL to generate reports in various formats like HTML, PDF, Printer Friendly, Text and CSV formats.

NATIONAL INSTITUTE OF TECHNOLOGY,TRICHY INDIA Student Jan 2005-Jul 2005

Project Use of Conjoint Analysis for the Design of New Website

The use of conjoint analysis in website design can mean the difference between "what you see" and "what you get.” The project was to create the website to support a new product offering considered the typical pathway for website development. That is, to generate feedback on the current site and/or request marketing preferences; identify IT capabilities; design the site; pilot the design; gain consensus; and launch the new design. A statistical technique called Design of Experiments (DOE), a testing method that allows evaluation of multiple factors simultaneously was used. DOE allowed the team to quantify both "main effects" (the impact of each factor acting alone) and "interactions" (the effect of factors working in combination) was used. In this project, a DOE technique called conjoint analysis was used to focus specifically on customer reactions to various product/service features.

Client National Institute of Technology, Trichy.

Software Java, SQL Server 2000

Platform Windows NT

Role Developer

Tasks performed on the project:

Identifying the factors (in this case, website design elements) to test. It predetermines dif-ferent "levels" of each factor to be used in the experiments.

Comprehensive surveys to gather customer preferences are conducted with different combinations of the factors at each level.

Reviewing the test results, the factors and their combinations that are significant (in statistical terms) can be interpreted this way. Eliminating the non-significant factors, an iterative process of winnowing down the list to factors, or combinations of factors was used, with the greatest impact on positive customer reactions
