Project Manager/Defense

• Responsible for manufacturing planning, and low volume production of Military Defense SCWS (Stabilized Commanders Weapon Station) weapon system.

• Major responsibility to track, expedite and oversee to assure on-time delivery of 300 plus individual purchased components.

• Coordinated and scheduled 50 plus internally machined and fabricated components, including final weapon system assembly.

• Assist purchasing manager in vendor sourcing and launch to assure compliance of Military Specifications.

BUSCHE December 2010 – August 2011

Quality Engineer/Supervisor

• Responsible for Quality performance of CNC machining and assembly plant consisting of 68,500 sq.ft.

• Supervise and Manage over three direct report Quality Technicians.

• Responsible for 66% YTD reduction in customer complaints versus 2010 plant performance.

• Experience interacting with customers and suppliers on a daily basis regarding non-conformance scrap issues, quality concerns, PPAP submissions, and new program launches.

• Prepare and internally audit plant for first TS-16949 audit which took place June 2011. End results were 100% compliance with zero minor or major non-conformances, and no recommendations.

• Experience in implementing QS-9000, ISO-9001, and TS-16949 standard requirements and principles into operations via creating work instructions, calibration instructions, corrective actions, FMEA’s, control plans, and operation processes.

• Responsible for PPAP Dimensional Layout inspection, compiling, and summarizing data for end customer.

• Experienced on multitude of measuring instruments which include calibration, programming, and designing.

• Perform capability studies in specific cells which resulted in high scrap fall-out. Formulated action plan and assigned owners to open items to improve process, and report out verification results to organization.

Advanced Supplier Quality Engineer – Ferrous & Non-Ferrous Castings, & Machining

• Lead and provide technical recommendations utilizing Advanced Part Quality Planning (APQP) process to ensure manufacturing feasibility and top of the line quality.

• Drive supplier collaboration up front prior to tooling kick-off to reduce and minimize cost.

• Research, access/audit supplier manufacturing processes and quality systems and develop selected die cast and machining suppliers to support our Global Operations.

• Maintain and grow relationship with Supply base to grow and excel together in the industry.

• Bestow culture upon Supply base that quality comes from consistent discipline to follow robust systems and processes.

• Implement new technology, processes, materials, and lean principles in conjunction with supplier to become leaders in industry at lowest cost possible.

• Daily communication with suppliers and customers to ensure quality issues are contained and resolved within 7 days.

Product Engineer – Hydraulic & Manual Rack & Pinion Gear, Halfshafts, & Power Steering Hoses

• Collaborated with Sales and Marketing as a System Engineer on Strategic new global business pursuits.

• Product Engineer & Project Manager on new pursuit product launch projects on hydraulic, manual, electronic-hydraulic assisted power steering systems and components, and Driveline Halfshafts from concept through entire product life including aftermarket service.

• Directly responsible for interfacing with Customer and providing technical support to manufacturing plants.

• Address product warranty issues and provide technical solutions.

• Coordinate/optimize/track cross-functional efforts to meet program imperatives and milestones.

• Prepare, manage, and lead risk management plans. Utilize escalation process as appropriate to assure adherence to program imperatives. Reviews and presented project status to Executive Management Team.
