Management

I am tough on ethics, I believe the only way to establish a loyal and action oriented culture of continual process improvement and accountability among a broad spectrum of professional and technical employees is through leading by example. I require my reports to treat one another with respect and dignity both professionally and personally while focusing on the work and the task at hand. Treating my reports with respect, dignity, and the sense that each one has an equally vital role in the completion of a quality product is key to introducing a successful program.

I believe an underutilized work force is the most harmful of waste. Operators being the most experienced at the tasks under review, I require them to participate and own the process under continual improvement as well as hold themselves accountable without fear of disciplinary action.

I will create training programs where skill is lacking. I will conduct job hazard analysis and corrective action to ensure a safe working environment. I will conduct monthly safety training and hold my supervisory reports accountable for enforcing safe working practices.

I will conduct in-house quality audits to insure a healthy and committed quality program and to communicate to the workforce how import quality is by conducting the audit myself.

I hand out discipline privately and respectfully so as to maintain the loyalty and dignity of the employee. I discourage gossip that causes contention in the workforce and upper level management.

Through my many years of hands on experience I will garner the respect of my reports, and through my education, sound decisions and work ethic I will be a reliable counterpart to the organization.

I aggressively pursue the elimination of waste, no matter the resistance to change or burdensome data involved in making the right decision. I make it my top priority, for eliminated waste effects the organizations bottom line more efficiently than anything else.

Continual education is also key in a forever changing and more competitive manufacturing industry i.e. new software, equipment, techniques and technology, I have always welcomed the opportunity to improve my skills.

I treat the budgets in my trust as my own, prudent and data driven in my spending and aggressive in doing more with less.

I report on Cost, Quality, Delivery, Safety, Utilization, Efficiency, DPMO, OEE and have a strong fundamental understanding of ERP/MRP and the costs involved in moving material through a manufacturing plant as well as inventory. I have experience in successful team building to coordinate efforts in alleviating manufacturing time, scrap and labor as well as making production adjustments to achieve scheduled goals, shop floor lay out, work cells, capitol equipment acquisitions, inventory control, maintenance, material flow and overall production quality using Lean Six Sigma Methodologies.

In closing I would like to express that, at the end of the day, a customer's critical to quality product delivered on time, in the right quantity and at competitive cost, (while earning the loyalty of the workforce) is my daily mission as your organizational manager.

Thank you for your valuable time and consideration.

Regards, James Lee Cain
