Assignment: The South Financial Group, Columbia, SC 2002 – 2002

Senior Programmer/Analyst

• Provided web support programming for an existing company intranet web site.

• Created new intranet based applications using Java and ASP.

• Modeled/designed the databases using MS SQL Server.

• Online Adjustment System: Created an intranet-based application using ASP, VB Script, and Java Script. The application enhanced the research department ability to locate checks by downloading the data from Fedline and uploading it into a SQL Server database. This application uses stored procedure to do all data manipulation. Fedline only stored checks online for one year. This new system now allows the department to view checks past a year, thus greatly improving the research process.

• Credit Review System: Designed and developed an intranet based application using ASP, VB Script, and SQL, querying an AS400 database (FiServ). This application replaced and existing set of Excel spreadsheets that were used to determine credit risk rating. The data transferred from FiServ via an FTP file which was then pasted into a series of formula driven spreadsheet. The new system accesses the FiServ database directly using ADO and SQL. The new system has saved the risk management department a tremendous amount of time and accuracy.

Assignment: RBMG, Columbia, SC 2002 - 2002

Senior Programmer/Analyst

• Provide business analysis and programming for the Risk Management team which determines the company's risk on loans purchased.

• Developed an application for tracking boxes in inventory that housed closed account paper files.

• Risk Management Reporting System: Worked closely with the risk management team to determine what modifications needed to be made to the risk management applications. The applications are written in MS Access using VB script. The main application was previously creating PDF reports. The business analysts were editing the reports to create more reports to get the desired output. The reports were e-mailed to the appropriate managers, which in turn e-mailed them to their employees. Working closely with the team, the system was changed using Visual Interdev and ASP to create the desired output and automatically post the reports to the Intranet thus saving the business analyst at least 5 days of work.

• Box Management System: Designed and developed an application written in Visual Basic to allow the Investor Accounting group to better track documents sent to storage. Once an account is paid off, its files are stored in a box with other paid off files. The box was then stored and the box number and file number is logged in an Excel spreadsheet. The sheets are kept by the month and printed. At this point only a hard copy exists. Whenever a file was needed, it has to be found on one of the Excel spreadsheets. The new application allows for easier entry and data access. The application also prints ad hoc reports created in Crystal Reports. The boxes can be logged and found much easier saving the group much time and effort.

Assignment: Washington Mutual (Formerly Fleet Mortgage), Columbia, SC 1999 – 2001

Senior Programmer/Analyst

• Provided production support programming and business analysis for a variety of mortgage business applications and automated processes running in a client-server environment.

• Loan Registration Reporting System: Created an ad-hoc reporting system using Crystal Reports distribution expert collecting information from an Oracle database. Gathered user requirements to create functional specifications. This project required close work with the DBA team and client to create new database objects and procedures. The purpose of the reporting system is to provide users with real-time registration reports using times designated by the user. As a result of this project, the users are then able to determine which mortgage loans are to be bought or sold by Washington Mutual.

• CLX Management Reports: Designed and developed a thin client user reporting system that included all of the in-house development associated with the loan origination process. The tools used to create this system included Visual Basic, Crystal Reports, Oracle Reports, Excel, FrontPage, Autosys, Rapid SQL and an Oracle database for use over the wide area network (WAN) and the Intranet. The purpose of the reporting system was to execute reports automatically at different times of the day and create them in HTML and PDF format. The reports were then published automatically to the Intranet allowing users to view real-time reports.

• Correspondent Lending System: Modified and corrected bugs in an existing system used to track correspondents' doing business with Washington Mutual. This robust system is written in PowerBuilder 6 and uses a Sybase database. Most changes were done in the rate module, which reads and exports data from an Excel spreadsheet. Many changes were also made to the database objects including triggers, stored procedures and views. These changes allowed the correspondent lending team to have requested changes and bug fixes in a timely manner.

South Carolina Electric and Gas, Columbia, SC 1997 to 1999

Senior Programmer/Analyst

• Job duties included design, code, test, document and implement advanced computer software in a manner consistent with department standards utilizing the most current technologies of Visual Basic, ASP, COM, PowerBuilder, and Microsoft Access. Directed programmers in the proper use of advanced programming techniques, software utilization and programming languages. Resolved hardware and software malfunctions for a variety of programming environments. Initiated new ideas and creative approaches to improve job performances. Assisted in performing work estimates for system development.

• New Gas Customer Web Registration: Modified and enhanced an existing web site used to sign up new customers in Georgia. With the advent of gas deregulation in the state of Georgia, SCE&G created a way for potential gas customers to register via the Internet. This system was created using ASP, COM, IIS, MS Transaction Server and MS SQL Server. Marketing Sales Entry System: Modified and enhanced an object oriented client server marketing information system using PowerBuilder (7.X & 8.X), Sybase SQL Server and the PowerClass object library. Improved the department knowledge base by training two developers to use PowerBuilder (7.X & 8.X).

• Underground Pipe Tracking System: Designed and developed an underground pipe tracking software system used companywide created in PowerBuilder 6 on a Sybase platform. Supervised two other developers on this project. This system was created to replace an existing ineffective mainframe system. The result of this replacement allowed the gas department faster and more accurate accesses to related data. The new system was also more user friendly. Converted data from the existing mainframe system to a Sybase database for this project.

SCT Utility Systems, Columbia, SC 1990 to 1996

Programmer/Analyst

• Job duties included performing technical task efficiently and effectively providing a high quality product while meeting project objectives and deadlines under minimal technical supervision. Prepared detailed specifications from which programs would be written. Develop and maintain code for programs. Documented systems and programs according to standards. Maintained effective verbal and written communications with the clients and company staff.

• Project Manager: Served in the role of project manager for a yearlong project. The purpose of the project was to convert a client from their current financial system to SCT's financial product, which was completed successfully.

• Substation Tracking Software: Created a system to track the inventory in an electrical substation. This system interfaced with existing work order financial software through file transfers. This new system allowed users to better maintain the inventory of each substation.

• W2 and 1099 Financial System: Modified and enhanced an existing financial system used to gather and print W2 and 1099 on an annual basis. Changed software yearly according to IRS standards and attended various IRS and financial seminars. These changes allowed customers to accurately print W2 and 1099 information with the most current federal changes.
