Provided engineering services for multiple Design Change Packages (DCPs). Specified and recommended vendor hardware and services. Reviewed vendor documents to verify compliance with plant requirements. Designed, developed, and tested custom software solutions for three (3) nuclear plants. Created custom interface software for a Caldon Ultrasonic Flow Metering system communicating via Ethernet on an OpenVMS operating system using Berkley Sockets and a MODBUS ASCII & MODBUS TCP formats. Ported Severe Accident Management Guidelines software using Visual Basic on Windows 2000 for a Data Systems and Solutions (DS&S) Plant Monitoring System (PMS).

General Electric Plastics

Served on automation team for development of Material Handling System (MHS) to automate operations for the Lexan product line. Led Phase 2 expansion of MHS capabilities to increase plant production capacity. Provided on-site start-up and telephone help support services. Designed, developed, and tested plant floor scheduling software using C programming language on DEC Alpha computers running OpenVMS. Developed plans and procedures used to test MHS. MHS hardware architecture included DEC Alpha & VAX Mini Computers, bar code scanners and printers, Automated Guided Vehicles, NT based PC workstations, SCO Unix based PC workstations, and PLCs.
