Work Experience

UMTS RF engineer Feb”11 – present

Avion Systems Inc; Atlanta, GA

Client: Alcatel lucent & Ericsson

● Involved in projects related to UMTS pre-launch optimization for 1st, 2nd & 3rd carriers.

● Creating neighbor lists & drive routes prior to field testing according to the strategy followed by AT&T for different markets.

● Preparing AT&T GNG Cluster KPI reports for UMTS multicarrier expansion, growth sites and cluster sites

● Analysis of drive data using Actix Spotlight for identifying network related issues for PS and CS accessibility, retain ability and hand off analysis (SHO, IFHO and IRAT), HSDPA and HSUPA throughput analysis.

● Performed extensive analysis on events such as CS & PS -drops & access Failures, PS - application drops and provided appropriate recommendations to meet required KPI’s for UMTS network.

● Undertaken parameter modifications such as QrxlevMin, QqualMin, UEtxPower, MaxPRACH, Sintrasearch, Sintersearch, Ssearch_RAT, Qhyst1 & Qhyst2 etc.

● Extensive analysis on Layer 3 messages using ACTIX and TEMS.

● Accessing Ericsson OSS and using moshell commands to find any alarm or hard ware issues on Node B, running UETR for identifying call drops and access failures from core network perspective.

● Identifying areas of pilot pollution, over shooters & coverage holes and suggest necessary tilt recommendations & azimuth changes to optimize the overall performance of the network.

● Coverage prediction using Atoll to identify coverage changes with different tilts.

● Recommended antenna tilts and power changes to improve the coverage of the site.

● External GSM definitions, IFHO settings and IRAT settings prior to testing.

● Comparing UMTS performance with underlying GSM and CDMA sites

● Analyzing the effect of IRAT on overall performance of the cluster

LTE RF Engineer Nov’10 – Jan’11

Ericsson; Plano, TX

Client: Metro PCS

● Extensive use of MAPINFO, TIPP_L Macro for site shake down analysis to identify handover failures and recommend required changes to meet the requirements.

● Checking whether the antennas were oriented properly as per the desired azimuth and tilts.

● DAS node hand over analysis using TEMS Investigation and TIPP_L macro.

● Identifying RSRP, CINR, Throughput problem areas from the cluster drives using TEMS discovery

● Analyzing attach failures & session errors from the cluster drives using TEMS investigation.

● Recommend power changes, tilts, azimuth shifts & handover definitions

● Checking if the neighbor relations were defined properly using TEMS discovery.

● Accessing Ericsson OSS and using MOSHELL commands to find any alarm hard ware issues.

● Created cluster boundaries, drive routes and coordinated with the Drive Test team.

UMTS RF engineer Jan’09 – Oct’10

Avion Systems Inc; Atlanta, GA

Project: UMTS Project

● Involved in developing, executing, troubleshooting test cases on Wireless standards like IS95, CDMA 2000, WCDMA, GSM, GPRS, HSUPA and HSDPA Modem Apps.

● Involved in IRAT & IFHO testing procedures.

● Analysis of RSCP and Ec/No plot to identify areas for bad coverage.

● Analysis of dropped call events, to categorize issues related to RF Network.

● Analysis of coverage and drop call locations to identify the issues to make a comprehensive understanding on progress of RF Optimization.

● Assisting RF engineers in processing data and creating reports, checking for dominant scrambling codes, call drops, origination failures, FTP Failures.

● Extensive use of ACTIX for Layer 3 analysis to identify appropriate reasons for events such as drop calls /access failures, etc.

● Performed extensive analysis on events such as CS & PS -Drops /Access Failures, PS - Application Drops and provided appropriate recommendations to meet required KPIs

● Identifying areas of Pilot pollution, over shooters & coverage holes and suggest necessary tilt recommendations & azimuth changes.

● Coordinated E911 testing

● External IFHO settings and IRAT settings prior to field testing.

● 2G-3G and 3G-3G neighbor analysis

● Created cluster boundaries, drive routes and coordinated the drive test teams.

● Trouble shooting the kit issues of drive teams in various test scenarios and provide technical assistance.

Skills

● Extensive use of Actix analyzer, Actix spotlight, TEMS Discovery, TEMS Investigation & MapInfo.
