PROJECTS EXECUTED

Project 1:

Title : ASIA Lighting DC

Client : GE Appliances & Light.

Role : B.O Developer.

Environment : Business Objects XIR3, Informatica7.1, Informatica8.6, Oracle 9i

Duration : March 2011 to Sep 2011.

Description:

Our Client GE is an advanced technology, services and finance company taking on the world's toughest challenges. Ge operates in more than 100 countries and employed about 3,00,000 people worldwide. Our Project ASIA Lighting DC is a migration project and it was related to Appliances & Lighting domain of GE. The main aim of this project is to migrate the Data, Mappings & Reports from Cockpit(The existing application) server to a newly developed server and developing a separate application for Lighting domain by removing data related to Industrial domain. The Mappings which used to define ETL data load process are migrated from Informatica 7 version to Informatica 8.6. We need do some change in the data load process by editing the mappings. We need to update some reports as per the requirements given by the client. Previously the reports are scheduled by running java tasks, so we gather the scheduling information from java scripts and Schedule the reports as per the requirement by using publications.

Responsibilities:

● Modifying the reports as per the user requirements.

● To satisfy some requirements we need to add new tables to the universe, modifying the universes as per the requirement and creating/ modifying the reports.

● Involved in Migrating the Folders in Informatica by changing the properties of tasks, Sessions and using versioning.

● Involved in migrating the BO components from cockpit server to the newly developed “DEV” server, by using import wizard.

● Checking for the BO components that are imported by using BIAR file created at the time of running the import wizard.

● Testing all the reports, if the structure of the report and data was proper or not.

● Publishing the reports to a set of recipients at the particular time with required parameters, this scheduling information is gathered from the Java tasks that are exist on the main cockpit server.

Project 2:

Title : B.O Migration project.

Client : BNP Paribas.

Role : B.O consultant.

Environment : Business Objects XIR2, SQL Server, Crystal Xcelsius.

Duration : Aug 2010 to Feb 2011.

Description:

This project is a Migration project; there are 400 trade and order processing reports that are generated using VB scripts that run on SQL Server, and use C++ as their base language. The reports are generated in various formats like excel, pdf and csv. There is no documentation available for the current report business logic. The VB scripts are specific to a report format or client as the need be, therefore multiple VB scripts exists. VB scripts include SQL calls to extract data from underlying database tables & generate the required output. VB scripts have capabilities such as password protecting Excel worksheet, dynamic worksheet output, incremental outputs…etc. Our main work is to extract the date from the existing VB scripts and prepare the report specification document and reports. We need to design the dashboards on a weekly basis, for the purpose of giving presentations for client. Once the report was developed testing the report with various test cases.

Responsibilities:

● Analysis of existing reports using reverse engineering for the existing VB scripts.

● Responsible for analysis, design, coding, testing and debugging of programs according to program specifications.

● Adhere to formal development methodology and tools, bank’s rules and regulations.

● Develop technical specifications/ program specifications and produce technical documentation for the system as well as user documentation.

● Participate in rollout and fix implementation problems (software releases).

● Participating in developing the dashboards for clients from the Excel sheets using crystal Xcelsius to give a graphical representation.

● Using Gauges, Radio buttons, Speedo meters and some graphical features available, to make the dash boards effective.

● Develop the test plan and test cases.

Project 3:

Title : Sales & Supply Chain Data Warehouse Implementation.

Client : Rory Cowan Enterprises.

Role : Team member.

Environment : Business Objects XIR2, Informatica, Windows 2000 Server

Duration : Dec2008 to Oct 2009

Description:

This project has involved building an enterprise-wide data warehouse for Rory Cowan Enterprises - which is the United States arm of Unliver Enterprise and is US’s largest FMCG Company. The warehouse serves the needs of all the profit centers in RCE including beverages, detergents, personal care products, ice creams and foods. For each profit center, it stores the data for the entire sales and supply chain starting from raw material purchase, packing material purchase, transportation of materials to factories, inventory and production of finished goods at factories, dispatch of goods to depots, inventory at depots, primary sales of goods to distributors, secondary sales of goods to retailers, etc. Data from Operational Source System is extracted, transformed and loaded into data warehouse Using Informatica. The reports are being generated in Business Objects to study the Sales Analysis System.

Responsibilities:

● Involved in developing some mappings by using powercenter Designer by using set of transformations.

● Maintaining the Universe.

● Created reports using Business Objects Functionalities like Slice and Dice, Drill Down, Master Detail, Breaks, Custom Sorts.

● Analyzed, designed, built and tested reports while working directly with end-users and technical members of the team.

● Created user Prompts, Conditions and Filters for various reports to specify the reporting parameters as per the business rules and the requirements of the end users.

Project 4:

Title : Warehouse Management

Client : Frito-Lay, USA.

Role : Team member.

Environment : Business Objects 6.5, Informatica, SQL Server

Duration : Mar 2008 to Nov 2008

Description:

This project consists of modules like Actual Shipments & Arrivals, Billing, Freight Allocation and Planned Orders. Star Schema is used as Multi Dimensional Modeling with time, geography, and product, sales organization as dimensions and sales as a fact table consists of forecast sales, actual sales, shipments as sales perspective and forecast removals, actual removals, shipments as distributor perspective.

Involved in designing the Universe and played a major role in creating the corporate reports for Shipments & Arrivals, Billing, and Planned Orders and also involved in creating the reports for Distributor’s State Level and Region Level.

Responsibilities:

● Created reports using Business Objects functionalities like Slice and Dice, Drill Down, Cross Tab, Master Detail etc.

● Developed reports using Alerter.

● Played a major role in creating reports using Universe.

● Created Reports using Prompts for user response.

This project is for retail business covering the consumer products. Data warehouse designed for the purpose of sales analysis that basically helps the decision makers to analyze the sales patterns using the following business angles or dimensions business wise, date wise, customer wise, Area wise, Region wise. this enables the management to know exactly the status of sales and which in turn helps the management to take necessary decisions..

The proposed data warehouse is well structured keeping in view of future requirements.

Responsibilities:

● Designed reports with slice and dice and drill mode.

● Resolving join problems such as loops.

● Extensively worked with formatting the reports according to the user requirements.

Description:

This project was called EPA (Enterprise Pricing Analytics) and was aimed towards providing an enterprise wise solution to CVS Pharmacy’s effort in measuring and comparing prospective and existing competitors and their respective pricing sales figures. My role involved working in the Financial Business Analysis and sales department for providing a better business solution in terms of their business forecast for the current and upcoming years the role involve working in all modules of Business Objects for price comparison among different pharmaceutical products produced and marketed by CVS Pharmacy.

Responsibilities:

● Involved in designing report requirement templates from user requirements.

● Analyzed the existing database and designed the Universes using the Business Objects Designer Module

● Resolved Loops in Universes using Table Aliases and Contexts to remove cyclic dependencies.

● Checked the universes for Integrity and exported them to the repository to make resources available to the users and groups.
