Helped develop a process to convert waste paper into ethanol for the purposes of non-agricultural based biofuel. Initial emphasis was on background research and small scale lab work followed by large scale plant design detailing delivery and chemical conversion of cellulose in waste paper to glucose, to fermentation and distillation/purification.

•Develop and test new applications of existing polymers in floor care finishes

•Scale up wax emulsion technologies from lab scale reactors to Pilot Plant batches, for the purpose of creating a new product line with OMNOVA

•Scale up lab process, from 50g to 4.5lbs for customer testing

•Produce renewable fuels using microreactors by studying fluid flow, liquids mixing, heating and catalysis in micro-channels

•Experiment-based search for the best metal catalysts for heterogeneous alcoholysis of soy bean oil to biodiesel in micro-channels

•Computer simulation through grid generation using ACE+/GEOM software to go from batch to continuous process
