Attorney and consultant assisting businesses with legal issues and their application to the construction process. Responsibilities include evaluation of contractual relations, identification of risks, interfacing with insurers and sureties, evaluation of business interruption issues, analysis of engineering standard of care issues, negotiate and manage contracts with suppliers, vendors, subcontractors and general contractors, advise senior management on risks and evaluation of economic issues. Specific client experience includes:
Worked with developers for the designing an alternative fuel plant. Responsibilities included real estate acquisition negotiation, overall review of project execution strategy and obtaining local government permits and approvals.
Worked with a land development company that was limited by financial constraints due to excessive surety bond issues. Negotiated the release and managed the issue of over $30 Million in surety bonds allowing the company to grow by 50%.
Managed identification and evaluation of acquisition targets located in the Mid-Atlantic area for a company with a budget to invest $50 Million over three years negotiated three opportunities with one actual closing.
Worked with state construction agency to evaluate contracts, scope of work, construction change orders and project close out on several building renovation and Greenfield projects.
Managed the negotiation and closing of sale of a $15 million dollar acquisition. Responsibilities included due diligence, document preparation, Board of Director resolutions and final escrow release.
Worked with a major developer for land acquisition and subdivisions of $20 million per year.
Worked with the management of a remediation products company to manage product development and intellectual property issues. Guided the company through environmental testing and submission of results to the EPA.
Provided claim justification services after a $600 million property and business interruption loss. Worked with the client to identify and justify unforeseen and undetected damage after a major refinery fire. Evaluated the engineering standard of care and the reasonableness of decisions made during the rebuild process. Prepared expert reports and analysis for use in the arbitration presentations.
Represented a major engineering firm in defense against a municipalities claim of failure to meet contractual requirements and engineering standard of care. Case was based on the failure of the municipal water systems performance.
Represented a major engineering-construction firm in a $10 million claim for changed site conditions.
Attorney for environmental remediation company guiding the company in the conformance of their contractual documents, minimization of risks, licensing contracts and subcontract agreements.

Supervised shift production for global leader in the manufacture of catalytic converters. Increased average yearly production by 12%. Decreased rejected parts by 33% and lost days per month from 12 to 0.5.

Marathon Oil Company, Iraan, TX 1982-1984
Planned, scheduled and supervised 8 technicians on capital projects of $200 Million per year in all aspects of producing 125K barrels of oil per day in an on-shore oil field. Evaluated oil well production history for potential capital projects, prepared and submitted capital expense requests and improved well yield.
