Schlumberger ; Rosharon and Houston, Texas June 2004 - December 2009

Senior Technical Designer

Taking on a full time position with Schlumberger, I continued to help with the first production of the Sub Sea Data Hub and the Topside Data Hub. These two devices would electronically speak to each other giving the customer critical data about the production from the well. Before this equipment was placed on the market to sale. I was solely responsible for developing the jigs and fixtures for the commercial testing. On occasion I was ask to visit vendors to work out manufacturing issues. Later in 2005 both units were placed into service in Norway. I helped the Sales Department in marketing of the Units by supplying charts and graph as well as 3D graphic models. After the units were soled I helped the customer to retro fit our system to his existing system. While doing this, the engineering team I worked with made improvements to the design, which then I had to implement to the existing design. In March of 2006 this project came to a close so I transferred to the Wire line Truck Division. The last two and a half years were spent on developing a Wire line Logging truck for servicing Oil Field Applications. The remaining time at Schlumberger was assisting in the design of the EWAFE commercialization and the Acid Injection systems for the Offshore oilfields in Africa. Besides maintaining my daily discipline I took on another position within the company as Loss Prevention Team Member (LPT). The Tools I used in my job were: Pro E Wildfire 4, AutoCad, Microsoft Word, Excel and other various Company Applications.

Kelly Services; Rosharon, Texas September 2003 - June 2004

Senior Technical Designer

I contracted out to work at Schlumberger for Kelly Services. While in this role, I was the only Designer for five engineers while on this project. I was tasked to work with Mechanical and Electrical Engineers to develop a Subsea Data Hub that could transmit Intelligent Data to the surface. My primary job was to create the chassis and the fixing points on this chassis to house the electrical components. The Data Hub would then be remotely mounted by ROV to X-mas Trees, Manifolds and the like on the sea floor. I also was tasked to develop and build a Top Side Data Hub. I again designed the Structural housing for the Electronics components. I traveled abroad to England to assist another segment for this business. While there I designed components for the Fiber Optics housing. I also made improvements to the Wave simulator housing that they were to build for this project. My position required me to work with Lab Technicians to develop the first of four prototypes. In June of 2004, I accepted a full time position with Schlumberger. The Tools I used in my job were: Pro E Wildfire 2, AutoCad, Microsoft Word and other various Company Applications.

Technical Specialist II

I produced Assembly and Part drawings, Layouts, Check Prints and Art Works for Customer Brochures. My responsibilities required me to check my own work and enter Bills of materials into the Company Database. I stayed current with all Company Design Policies as well as ANSI and API Standards. Most of my work was on the Sub Sea X-mas Trees, much of which consisted of developing supply strings from the X-mas Tree or Manifolds to the surface. I worked on problem parts to resolve issues with malfunctions. One particular time I redesigned the check valve for the application at hand. This Position was a new venture for me. I came aboard and setup the Drafting and Design Department. I provided designs and layouts for Product Development. I produced designs and drawings for a Multilateral Well System, which was sold to Weatherford. I helped to market and develop a System to provide natural gas as a fuel source in foreign markets. I prepared Product drawings for Vendor fabrication. I set up Drawing Archive Systems and Part and Drawing Numbering Systems for the Company. I worked with various Engineers and Salesmen to complete and market the Products. Travel was a requirement for this Position and I was exposed to foreign businesses and their Manufacturing Processes. I interviewed these Companies to assess their capabilities to manufacture various Products designed by others and myself at the Company. Mechanical Designer

Employed with Oceaneering I was the first Member hired for a new group to develop Structural Equipment to launch and recover Marine Equipment. Prior to other employees joining the ranks of this Department, I struck out and developed structural modifications to existing designs as well as providing new designs for current work. I traveled various time from Houston to Louisiana to work with company personnel to develop launching systems. I worked primarily on designing and building the Structural Frame for the ROV Launching Systems. I designed 4 new Launching Systems that I believe are still in use today. I was charged with the responsibility for the design work, the layouts and the drawings. My position required me to contact Vendors for Product needs and implement those Products into the Design and Product Database. The Tools I used in my job were: AutoCad 2000, Microsoft Word, Excel and other various Company Applications.

I started off in the Engineering Research and Development Department. I provided designs, layouts and Product drawings for Wellheads and Wellhead equipment. Later due to economics’, I transferred to the Land Well Head Department where I provided drawings and designs for Customer orders. My responsibilities required me to select materials to meet API 6A specifications. I did my own tolerance studies and input product data into the company database. Application Engineer

I was hired to head up the Drafting Department. I setup the CAD Department and I also maintained the computers and the files, as well as helping to develop the Standards for the Engineering Group. I provided designs on Plug Valves and other Wellhead Equipment. I also helped in the development of Mud Systems for Customer orders. I was charged with converting the old 'pencil drawings' into CAD drawings. I interfaced with Engineers to translate their drawings into workable drawings for production and I ran Finite Element Analysis using Algor. The Tools I used in my job were: Cadkey Software to produce and maintain the designs and drawings, Word Perfect and other various Company Applications.

I started off as a Board Drafter. I provided Orthographic Drawings of Mechanical and Nuclear Valves and other Products as they were developed. Mechanical Designer

I was hired as a Mechanical Designer to assist an Engineering Team in designing a Lubrication Systems for Mud Pumps used for Derrick Equipment. I drew designs for lubricating the piston chambers of the pumped. I made corrections to existing drawings for this pump as well. I interface with Engineers, Checker and other Designers to develop and procure drawings and designs for modification to existing equipment, as well as new Products. I received instruction for what was needed and with little interaction I created the desired designs needed for the application at hand I provided drawings of my designs that were used on the first commercialized Triplex Mud Pump. Later in the year the company moved to a different location where I as well as other colleges completed the Design and the first prototypes were developed and sold.

Drafting Supervisor

My position had many different activities to perform. One of them consisted of me receiving Engineering Change Request to modify existing equipment from the Lead Engineer. I then distribute this task among my team. I answered their questions and checked their final work. I worked closely with the Engineering team to stay abreast of up coming equipment and Engineering change request. I interfaced with Manufacturing to make improvements to new and existing Oil Field Equipment and the fabrication of the Products. I designed methods to lower Production Costs and improve overall efficiency and I also assisted development of Equipment Prototypes. The tools needed for this position was a drafting board and like equipment, blue line machine and copy machine. I managed a Drafting Department that was tasked with designing new Seals and Flexible Couplings used on Drive Shafts for World wide Marine usage. I worked with foreign and domestic naval application connecting drive shafts up that were not in alignment and reducing the vibration with in these systems. I was tasked with working from foreign drawings and interacting with the foreign locations producing company products for Marine applications. I assisted by gaining foreign information they needed for the conversions of company product. On occasion some non-marine applications came into play and I assisted develop the product for these applications. I was charged with converting them into English for production in America. I interfaced with the Manufacturing Department as well as the Inspection Department. I created an efficient Drawing Classification and Filing System for new and existing work. I provided 2D designs using a drafting board to develop Lubrication Systems for Hydraulic Equipment used in Pipe Yards. I created drawings defining the processes for coating a structural pipe for various oil applications.
