General Summary

I’m a graduate of Syracuse University with a degree in biochemistry. I’m currently looking for a job in the area of Rochester. My expectation is to attend the University of Rochester Master’s program in Biomedical Engineering starting this upcoming Fall 2012. I’ve had a dozen experiences in the medical health profession field. I began pursuing my interests in the medical field way back in my freshman year of high school when I started volunteering at the Friends of Strong Memorial Hospital for three consecutive summers. I worked as a volunteer Office Assistant in the Department of Vascular Surgery, Department of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation, and the Department of Kidney Transplant. After my freshman year at Syracuse University I volunteered in a molecular biology laboratory for two consecutive summers. As a volunteer lab assistant I was exposed to a variety of laboratory techniques including gel electrophoresis, yeast cell streaking on Petri dishes, data entry, preparation of freezer stocks, yeast cell DNA extraction, UV radiation, and more. In my Junior year I did a full year in Scott Erdman’s research lab on yeast cell mating patterns in correspondence with membrane disturbance drugs. My laboratory analysis research was then presented on a poster board and displayed at a student conference. I’m looking forward to doing more laboratory research including the following interests that involve engineering, programming, and math incorporated into biology and medicine. As for now, I’m looking for a clinically related career including a position as a laboratory technician, medical technologist, data analyst, pharmacy technician, etc.

Primary Research Interests:

• Neuromuscular Tissue Engineering

• Neuroengineering

• Biomechanics

• Molecular Cell Biology/Immunology
