Design and development of 4 and 6 place composite aircraft. Design component configuration, Jigs, fixtures, high and low temperature composite tooling, process and materials specification & procurement, management & training of 30 plus individual production & development team. Production facility design & layout. Project employed vacuum bagged, pre-preg carbon fiber/epoxy components as well as wet layup processing for both parts and production molds and composite fixtures. Designed composite and metal assembly jigs, & fixtures, routing and drilling masks. Vacuform, tooling, for windows and windshield thermoforming. Metal hardware design (controls, landing gears, etc.) Prototype assembly to include powerplant installation and systems integration, hydraulic retract system design, composite assembly, control system design & integration, instrument panel layout & design, coordinate & participation in CNC machined mold patterns as well as manually generate patterns (airframe) Project assembly & production drawing & documentation. Prototype aircraft successfully completed and flown. Responsible for quality management of all phases of project.
