Manufacturing Manager 2009 – 2010
Managed a 24/5 operation team of 80 people manufacture the assembly and final packaging of INratio test strips for blood clot detecting on live patients at clinics and hospitals.
• Reduced and stabilized excess work in process flow from 3.5 million pieces to half a million in order to balance production yield to actual customer demand.
• Reduced staff in half in order to align resources to production forecast without affecting sales targets or quality requirements. This translated into a $1.5 million in company cost savings.
• Implemented lean techniques such as 5s, kanban, kaizen, continuous flow and pull system in order to eliminate non-value added activities from production areas while improving efficiencies and quality expectations.
• Standardized and strengthened daily activities associated with scheduling, output, reports, GMP. ISO, PMF and other applicable regulatory agency standards and documentation.
• Responsible for all activities occurring on the manufacturing floor including training operators, appraising performance, enforcing GMP and aseptic clean room practices. Coordinated manufacturing efforts between Planning, Quality, Engineering, R&D and Material departments in order to achieve objectives.

Managed a 24/7 operation team of 120 people manufacture, assemble, paint, kit and ship, multi-contact electrical connectors for markets with harsh environmental conditions. Aerospace/Defense.
• Installed lean tools (kanban) in order to eliminate bottlenecks throughout production areas. Increased quality, efficiency and visibility to process flow, materials and people.
• Improved daily efficiencies from 75,000 connectors a day to 130,000. An increment of $1.4 million a year.
• Orchestrated business transfer from Oceanside, California to Tecate, Mexico with minimum distractions to planning and sales forecast. Coordinated work permits and documentation for customs. Hired, coached, cross-trained, new personnel.
