Client: Walgreen Inc. Position: Solution Architect Feb 09- Till Date Project 1 E-commerce EDW The project is for building the e-commerce EDW for the e-commerce business of Walgreens. The E-commerce business consists of Pharmacy, Photo and Self service business and is conducted through the Web portal of Walgreens. Major subject areas that are being built are Customer, product, order, payments, returns, shipment and vendor for all the three areas mentioned.
The goal of the project is to have the EDW platform to merge the store and the online business of Walgreen’s in order enable analysis and reporting across Walgreen’s store and e-commerce business.
Environment: IBM Websphere Information Analyzer, Data stage, Quality Stage, Teradata, Oracle, Business Objects, UNIX, Erwin, MS Visio, MS PowerPoint. Responsibilities till date: •Solution architecture definition for the E-commerce EDW

Client: Walgreen Inc. Position: DW Architect Jul 08- Feb 09 Project 2: Integrated Specialty Data Warehouse The project involves building a data warehouse for specialty drugs business at Walgreen and newly acquired specialty businesses to serve WHS managed clients’ reporting needs. A phased implementation approach will provide the complete EDW in 3 years timeframe. The first phase involves integration of dispense data from the mail, retail, specialty pharmacy channels ,the contact data and patient/clinical activity data from the call center operations system which conduct drug utilization review for specialty patients, & specialty program management. The first phase of the EDW will help cater to WHS client reporting requirements with focus on the following KPI s patient utilization, Medical & pharmacy spend trends, plan cost, co-payment cost, and ranking of top prescribers, spending trends by disease categories, Medical Possession ratio for measuring medication adherence, patient demographics, patient retention measures, number of patients contact with reasons. While canned reports will be built for WHS Specialty client reporting the EDW will also cater to adhoc reporting for Pharmacy Analytics for internal power users. Subsequent phases of the project will add other subject areas to provide the complete EDW. Environment: IBM Websphere Information Analyzer, Data stage, Quality Stage, Teradata, Oracle, Business Objects, UNIX, Erwin, MS Visio, MS PowerPoint. Responsibilities till date: •Analysis and gathering of Functional and Non Functional requirements. JAD sessions and workshops were conducted with business users and Walgreens IT team.
•Preparation of Business Requirements Document (BRD) and Sign off from the Director of Specialty Informatics.
•Perform Data Profiling and Analysis of Source Systems; provide data exception reports showing critical violations of data/business rules. Assess Data quality & conformance issues between Walgreens internal source systems and the newly acquired source systems. Determination of cleansing strategy based on the Data Quality Assessment.
•Provide Solution Architecture which includes – Information model, ETL architecture and Presentation Layer for the Specialty EDW •Information model – Prepare DW Bus Matrix, Logical Data Model & Physical Data Model of 3NF EDW and the Dimensional Data Mart, Analysis of standard pharmacy industry model to validate its conformity with the specialty EDW requirements •ETL architecture – Prepare Data Flow diagrams, identify major streams like Data Conversion, Historical, Data Retention Archival, Data Quality, Reconciliation •Presentation Layer – Define Retrieval , Reporting and presentation process & tools

Client: Hallmark Cards Inc. Position: Data Conversion Lead Nov 07- Jun 08 Project: Data Conversion from Legacy to SAP This project involved the migration of legacy Oracle applications and mainframe data to the new SAP R/3 implementation at Hallmark. The Wave 1 phase of the project involved migration of the Purchase Order , goods receipt, Vendor master , Employee Organization , GL balances , Fixed assets and project balances data from oracle applications and also Material master data from Hallmarks Operation scheduling and maintenance system and the fixture data from the KBM system. The migration project also interacted with the Data Governance organization to ensure that right data is available and correctly governed, and available to the new implementation of SAP R/3. Environment: IBM Websphere Information Analyzer, Data stage, Quality Stage, Source Systems were flat files, DB2, Oracle 10g, Spreadsheets., CODE 1 for address Cleansing, MS Visio, MS Project Responsibilities: •Preparation of Project Plan, effort & cost Estimates, Resource Scheduling plans, Identify Risk & issues.
•Interact with Business Owners / IT SME of the existing Oracle Apps and material master maintenance systems and SAP R/3 SMEs to prepare the Functional Design document which mapped legacy functions to the target SAP R/3 modules. Preparation of detailed Field Mapping document to map legacy fields to the target SAP R/3 system and also specify transformation rules to be applied for each field.
•Analysis of source systems for validation of business rules, data Integrity and data cleansing requirements particularly with respect to Vendor and Material master data. Identify data quality issues and compile recommendations. Interface with LOB Data Owners as needed to resolve source data quality and cleansing issues.
•High Level ETL process design – Design of Interface between Oracle Apps / Material Master Systems and the Data Migration staging area. Specification of extracts to be generated for the SAP R/3. Detailed design of DataStage jobs and Data Flows based on the Field Mapping Document. Other areas included design of Historical load process and design of special X-ref between the legacy and SAP R/3 application in order to have cross system references during parallel run.
•Manage, Monitor and support construction, SIT testing and production roll out of the Data Migration Software of the TCS team and report progress to the Hallmark IT project manager
Client: Toyota Financial Services Position: BI engagement Manager Mar 07- Nov 07 Project: Revolution: Collapsing of Data Marts into Enterprise Data Warehouse Development of a single version of the truth for the different groups and departments of TFS by unifying the existing Data Marts into an Enterprise Data Warehouse (EDW) of TFS. Applying the data governance rules to the data architecture of Enterprise Data Warehouse and maintaining a single metadata layer for all entities of the organization. Creation of the Data Warehouse in EDW that will be the single source of all tactical and strategic reporting across the organization.
Environment: Informatica 8, Oracle 10g, Hyperion System 9 BI+, Sun Solaris, MS project, MS Visio, MS Power point Responsibilities: •Conceptualize assist and design the solution approach for collapsing the existing data Warehouse application to the evolving OneSource EDW. Client: British Telecom plc Feb 06 –Feb 07 Position: Offshore Delivery Manager Project: Openreach EDW Development of single version of data allowing business to draw meaningful results by cross linking results from different domains like fulfillment and orders and assurance of service delivery. The implementation of the project provided statutory compliance to the telecom authority regulations providing immediate ROI for British Telecom. Openreach provides a cost effective platform that ensures speedy MIS development and so rationalizes conflicting sources and halts the ineffective onward processing of MIS and proliferation of homegrown MIS solutions. This Data warehouse provides information that is operational, tactical and strategic in nature. Client: National Health Service Jul 05 –Jan 06 Position: Project Leader Project: NHS National Programme for IT The project involved migration of Data from the legacy systems at the NHS trusts to the new system being implemented at NHS.TCS working in alliance with Fijutsu Systems, PwC & BT provided the solution for migrating data from the legacy stack to the new stack. The developed system would do all the necessary data quality checks and provide early warning to the trusts for necessary corrective measures on there source system and enable integration through successful migration of legacy data into the new environment.

Client: Experian UK Nov 04 – Jun 05 Position: Project Leader Project: CSD Support This project involved a Customer sales data mart in Oracle with Oracle sales analyzer as the front end reporting platform. Maintenance & enhancement of the existing data warehouse was part of the work. Strategize and architected the evolution of the of Data Warehouses from one that was loaded weekly to one that would be loaded daily, designed and developed ETL using PL/SQL. The data warehouse was also re-engineered to take feed from the new source system due to replacement of the legacy system.
Client: Experian USA Mar 03 – Oct 05 Role: Technical Consultant Phase 1: BIS Market re-engineering – Feasibility study Lead a discovery phase to analyze the feasibility of building a National Business Database. This would house unique identified records for businesses of USA. Formulation of Blueprint for re-engineering of the legacy system into distributed system architecture. The discovery phase involved the study of the system as-is, and performing a GAP analysis with the to-be state. The solution roadmap was provided along with the High level process design, technical architecture.
Phase 2: BIS Market re-engineering Position: Business Analyst Data Modeler & ETL Lead As Data Modeler, responsible for merging 12 sources of Data into a single consolidated Data base. The ETL was designed to operate in closed loop mode as the entities and the attributes of the business entity like contact information, address information were subject to change. The change information was captured through NACS updates; tele verifcation.The requirement was to maintain both historical and current information on a single database. 3NF was used in the design of the database. Identification of unique businesses was achieved using special cleansing & geo coding software that was used to cleanse, standardize and dedupe based on identifying characteristics e.g. , name address and telephone numbers. Client: Harrods Jul 02 – Feb 03 Role: Data Architect Project: MIS Data Warehouse The project involved design and development of Retail Sales Data mart using Microsoft Technologies. The data warehouse consisted of the Staging layer, dimensional model in the SQL server Database, with multidimensional Cubes being implemented in the MS Analysis Serves. The reporting layer was built using proclarity. Some of the application data sources fed to the data warehouse includes Wholesale division data from SAP 4.0 on Unix/Oracle, Sales Audit system which maintain point of Sales data, Retail Express on AS400 which supports Airports division and Direct Mail operations.
Client: GE May 00 – June 02 Project1: GE Digital Cockpit Role: Technical Lead The project involved building of a prototype for web based reporting for monitoring the activities of sales representative. The system had specific data security requirements namely restricted data exposure to various levels of user hierarchy. The sales representative for the analysis of the target and calls and meetings attended the prototype. The data is loaded to the system on a weekly basis
Project2: FMIS Project Role: Technical Lead The project involved building of a data mart for the analysis of GL data present in the Oracle financial applications system. The major categories of reports included the following - Canned monthly reports, Balance sheet reporting, Budget verses actuals reporting
Project3: Global Data Warehouse Project Role: Module Lead GE Medical systems e-integration project involved deployment of web based BO reports for all business acquired by GE medical systems to provide status of business acquisition. Reports were built on data inputs from three poles America, Europe and Asia. Development of a centralized data repository consolidating data from different offices located in the three poles.
Project4: CDS data warehouse Role: Developer To provide one point access of customer sales and marketing details by Maintaining repository of customer responses to campaigns, transactions, customer demographic Information, etc. To provide GE Capital Bank with campaign analysis results to enable future planning of campaigns, determination of target groups, budgeting. To help sales and Marketing in making business decisions by providing data from MIDAS repository. The major subject areas were Loan Applications, retail sales and marketing.
Client: Dumrath & Fassnatch Aug 99 – Apr 00 Project: Sales Management System Datamart Position: ETL and Report Developer Development of Datamart for the Sales management of Dumrath and Fassnacht Hamburg. This is a project for developing a Datamart application for analyzing and monitoring the daily activities of their sales agents. They have an OLTP developed on Oracle for recording daily activities. The data from OLTP is first copied into a staging area and from there to a star schema. From the star schema we load the data to the OLAP MDDB. Different screens are developed to view that data. Drill down and drill up are possible to view the data at different levels on those screens. Slicing and dicing are also possible on those screens.
Client: TATA Bearings May 98 – Jul 99 Project 2: Migration Legacy to Avalon MRP II system Position: Developer The project involved migration of data form the existing legacy system to the customized Avalon system which was implemented at the client site. It involved implementation of several module of the Avalon package, necessitating the migration of the legacy data into the respective modules of the Avalon system.
