SUBJECT: Director of Quality Position – Tulsa Oklahoma
Dear: Recruiter,
I have attached a copy of my resume for your review and evaluation for Director of Quality position
in the Tulsa area.
I have a BS in Mechanical Engineering and registered as a Professional Engineer (PE) in
Oklahoma. I have created, written, and administered several AS9100/ISO9001 quality programs
from scratch. I have also been involved with API and ASME (Sections 3, 5, 8 & 9) programs.
As my attached resume indicates, I have been an AlliedSignal/Honeywell Six Sigma Black Belt
since 1999 and a NORDAM Continuous Quality Improvement (CQI) Specialist with Lean
Manufacturing since 2001. I have been working as a Director in Engineering and/or Quality
Management for the past 25 years. My most recent position is the Engineering Manager for
Ametek MRO Tulsa where I managed projects and solved company problems to improve the
bottom line.
I am a conscientious and creative problem solver who achieves consistent results and promotes
process improvement methods. Expertise includes project management, facilitating multiple
discipline teams and solving tough problems. I am proficient in regulatory compliance and
customer satisfaction.
My market differentiator is that I have a strong background in both engineering and quality. I can
manage, investigate, evaluate and solve problems using both disciplines simultaneously.
My best marketable skills are managing projects and solving problems with the results being under
budget a very large part of the time.
Sincerely,
Don L. Vavra, P.E.
