Resume:

To Whom It May Concern,

I have three years of civil site design experience. This experience includes roadway and site grading, water and sewer utility infrastructure design and stormwater modeling including floodplain analysis and detention analysis. I worked as design engineer and performed complex hydrologic and hydraulic analyses on many high profile projects in middle Tennessee. These analyses include stormwater management and water quality systems, storm sewer drainage design, design of sanitary sewer collection systems, water distribution systems, and design of sanitary sewer pump stations. I was also responsible for the preparation of all accompanying documentation such as Construction Documents, Storm Water Pollution Prevention Plans (SWPPP), Notice of Intent applications (NOI), Metro Nashville grading permit applications, Army Corps 404 Permits, responses to agency comments, and estimates of probable cost. I am proficient in AutoCAD and Autodesk Land Desktop as well as other civil design software packages.

I recently completed a Master of Civil Engineering degree in Construction Management from Vanderbilt University with a GPA of 3.91. This degree includes courses such as Scheduling, Estimating, Construction Materials and Methods, Contract Law, Project Management, Accounting and Finance, Risk, and others. I have experience using cost estimating software such as Timberline and On Screen Takeoff as well as project scheduling software like Primavera Project Planner and MS Project. I passed the Fundamentals of Engineering exam on April 17, 2010.

I am currently employed as an Assistant Project Manager with Aubrey Silvey Enterprises, Inc. My current project is the new GIS substation construction for Nashville Electric Service in conjunction with the Music City Center project. I am tasked with supervisory site management and construction coordination. I control all materials receiving documentation and records along with construction as-builts. I assist in day to day problem solving with our site superintendent and other sub-contractors.

I am confident that my combination of practical work experience and solid educational background has prepared me to make an immediate contribution to your work. Having worked with a leading firm in the design and construction fields, I understand the level of professionalism and communication required for project success. My background and professional approach to design and construction has allowed me to see both aspects of a project and understand how to coordinate project/design requirements to my construction staff.

Thank you for your time and consideration.

Sincerely,

Mathew McKendree
