The following is a summary of nearly 20 years experience within the medical field. Please contact me if you would prefer a more in depth resume. Willing to relocate if needed.

CERTIFIED X-RAY TECHNICIAN – 20 YEARS:

• Active duty US Army Training at Academy of Health Sciences in San Antonio, TX.

• Current certification by ARRT (#267420) since 1992.

• TX MRT certification #15135.

• Experience within the field of radiography includes hospitals, emergency and trauma rooms, outpatient clinics, ambulatory surgical centers, correctional facilities, operating rooms, fluoroscopy, pain management and orthopedics.

RADIATION SAFETY OFFICER – 10 YEARS

• Liaison between Texas Department of Health Radiation Control Program and employers.

• Responsible for record keeping, rules and regulations compliance, and state required inspections.

NON-CERTIFIED MEDICAL ASSISTANT – 10 YEARS:

• In addition to and in conjunction with x-ray technician duties in various settings, I have performed and have experience with the following:

• Readied patients for physicians by escorting them to an exam room, taking vitals (such as height, weight, blood pressure, temperature, and respirations), and documenting symptoms, complaints, and reason for visit.

• After consultation with physician and per physician request perform x-rays, urinalysis, EKG, and/or blood draws as needed both for illnesses and general physicals.

• In minor emergency care, prepared sterile fields and assisted in minor procedures. Under physician direction removed sutures and staples, applied wound care and dressing, and performed minor burn debridement.

• Started IV access for rehydration and/or potential emergency purposes.

• In orthopedic settings, applied and removed splints, casts, and durable medical equipment (DME).

NON-CERTIFIED ANESTHESIA TECHNICIAN – 5 YEARS:

• Directly responsible for anesthesia machine maintenance and anesthesia supply ordering as well as stocking of four surgical suites and an emergency airway cart in an ambulatory surgery center.

• Under direct supervision of a licensed anesthesiologist, set up and prepared necessary supplies for each patient, accompanied patient to operating suite and assisted with transfer to operating table, applied all monitoring equipment (blood pressure, EKG, pulse oximetry, and oxygen) in preparation for the anesthesiologist.

• Remained available to anesthesiologist and directly assisted in cases of difficult airway intubation and/or emergencies before, during, or after surgery.

MISCELLANEOUS EMPLOYMENT:

• The following positions were held either on a part time or as needed PRN basis or in conjunction with above duties:

• Second scrub in ambulatory surgical center. Assist surgeon and CST (Certified Surgical Technician) in operation procedures that required an “extra set of hands” to either hold retractors, hold a laparoscopic camera, pass instruments, or perform suction as needed (approximately two to three years experience).

• Recovery Technician for tissue and bone collection. Under sterile conditions, recover bone, tissue, skin, and tendon from cadaver donors for allograft transplant.

• Wheelchair Van Driver in conjunction with local EMS Service. Provided transport for assisted living and LTC residents as required for physician appointments and dialysis treatments.

• Carry over medical transcription services for a group of orthopedic physicians as well as transcription service for a physician who performed designated doctor exams for Texas Department of Insurance.

• Current CPR for Health Professionals certified.

• Registered nursing assistant in the state of Washington (expired).
