Using the IBM AS/400 I-series, built a system that is flexible and scalable to the changing needs of the company. The administrative function is simple and user friendly, the execution and reporting function is plug-and-play. This system is fully integrated with Property Management System (PMS), the General Ledger, as well as the Statement processing system.

 Management Services Reporting System: provided application support and system maintenance to the business owners of this system. The system’s function is to track the wholesale costs versus retail costs of goods and services to clients and realize the net profit. Responsible for adding and tracking new services and building new reports for this system, using the IBM AS/400 I-series. This system integrates with the chargeback system, property management system (PMS), and the General Ledger.

 Insurance Budget Forecasting Tool: built a spreadsheet to forecast insurance costs and premiums for the coming budget year for the entire company. Using data stored on the IBM AS/400 I-Series raw data is downloaded into a tab on the spreadsheet and calculations are entered to create the main tabs and the summary on the spreadsheet. The original process took 2 weeks to build and troubleshoot. Using a MS DST SQL package redeveloped this process and reduced time to build from 2 weeks to 1 hour. The SQL package took the raw data from the IBM AS/400 I-series and transformed the data onto a tab on a predefined MS Excel spreadsheet. When the spreadsheet is opened, it recalculates populating all tabs.

 Canadian EFT System: Automated this process from a manual process. Using the IBM AS/400 I-series, retrieved Client’s monthly customer parker data to charge monthly fees for parking services to the Canadian bank. This system creates the raw EFT data file on AS/400 I-series and uses FTP to send the Canadian Bank (CIBC). The raw data is retrieved from the Revenue Management System (RMS) and contains name, address, bank account, monthly charge, parking location, etc.

 Cognos Reporting Environment: Managed this project from the beginning into the first roll out. Gathered requirements from each functional business unit and architected Cognos Catalogs. Authored training for all users. Using IBM Data Propagator built the reporting partition used by users of Cognos. The Data Propagator uses journaling to update the report partition in a real-time manner.

 Client View 1.0: As part of a project team, developed reports using Cognos Impromptu to create client monthly statements to be viewed on the Internet. This project was driven by the Western division of the company to specifically meet the needs of one portfolio account.

 Client View 2.0: Administrator of this Java based system. Base system was written using Cognos Imprompu and re-written in Java. Administrative duties include: setting up users using LDAP and XML, and HTML, performing troubleshooting and monitored system usage. Also, performed analysis and wrote specifications for Java programmers.

 Controlled Self Assessment System (CSA): Provided analytical activities into the development and maintenance of this system. The CSA system extracts questions from the Internal Audit system to allow the garage managers the opportunity to assess and score their performance prior to the actual audit. The system is Java based and uses JSP to integrate data from the IBM AS/400 I-series. Used Eclipse and Merant to understand flow and inner workings of system, for trouble shooting and maintenance. Wrote Specification for Java programmers.

 Change Management System: Managed this project from conceptual design to Implementation. Assisted in authoring the workflow feature which is a series of reports that tracks the progress of a project. The software used in the Change Management process is Softlanding’s Turnover. Turnover allows the user to check out or build the objects to their development environment, make changes and promote them to a test environment. After the users have completed their testing, the objects are promoted to the production. Turnover archives 5 copies of objects for programmers to restore. All documentation is stored in a folder on the server for auditors review.

 STARS implementation: CS Stars is a proprietary insurance system that is hosted by Marsh, Inc. Worked on the project team to build the interfaces for the CS Stars to populate the database that Marsh hosted for the company. Also, developed programs using IBM AS/400 I-series to retrieve deductible claims information to be applied to client’s monthly statements.
